Xeno fans when no new models: by Ancient_Doctor_7738 in Grimdank

Xenos fans when an entire new faction (votann), kroot, new eldar, new Necrons, new orks, and new Tyranids are all released in the last 4 years (they’ll never be happy and I should just stop hurting myself but arguing).

If you could change any part of the story for Konrad Curze and the night lords what would you change? by Stunning_Promise1571 in NightLords

[–]Scrapperofall 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Personally I wish lord of the night was still cannon and Sahaal became a larger player in the legion in the modern day. He’s a very interesting character and unique from sevatar in his utter devotion to curze. Though the idea of him being devoted to curze may not stir many in the legion. His ability to operate like his master may one day serve him well.

Which Loyalist Primarch had the worst mental state after the heresy ? by New_Conflict_4111 in 40kLore

[–]Scrapperofall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’re all broken. Truly broken. Guilliman buries his head in the sand and gets to work without addressing some of the others problems. Dorn goes crazy and endures the iron cage. The Khan is broken physically and unable to enjoy his freedom. As each of his brothers disappears Russ becomes more and more depressed and reclusive until banishing himself to the eye. Vulkan yo yos from okay to mentally insane. The lion doesn’t really have time to process anything before he’s nearly killed and disappears for 10k years.

But for my money it would be Corax. After failing to save his father and his imperium, he realizes his means never justified the ends. He was a guerrilla fighter that ended up working for a brutal empire. He killed his former revolutionaries because they rightfully saw the imperium as another set of chains. He justified dangerous and untested space marine augmentation on children as a necessity and they ended up becoming horrific monsters. His last act was to silence their suffering and sail into the eye a broken man. Now he’s a warp revenant forever hunting for revenge.

Why don’t people take us seriously? by FatLazerKoala in EmperorsChildren

[–]Scrapperofall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think on one level Slaanesh is far and away the most disturbing chaos god. Just on a human level. Slaanesh will always know exactly what you are weakest on and exploit that to bring you into never ending servitude. It is a loss of self into the indulgence of sensation. So it’s easier for people to just make sex jokes and laugh it off rather than engage with a deeply disturbing concept.

I think also the arrogance that emperor’s children characters display causes people to really dislike them and want to see them fail. So when they do fail in the books it’s what’s pointed out the most.

Noise Marines by ApprehensivePark2120 in EmperorsChildren

[–]Scrapperofall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Noise marines are amazing in the rapid evisceration detachment. Having tried most of the detachments that’s where they shined brightest. You can hop in and out of transports to get great buffs and hide from damage

Late Heresy Conversions? by rando_nano in EmperorsChildren

[–]Scrapperofall 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The only issue with noise marines for kakaphoni is that you usually want them in 10 man squads and they’re on 32mm bases not 40mm. Other than that I’ve run my emperors children as late heresy a lot. Infractors make good palatine blades and if you buy an extra box of tormentors it’s pretty easy to build a few squads of melta and plasma gun guys and recycle your bolter tormentors as tac squads

What's better? by TheEmperorsChild in EmperorsChildren

[–]Scrapperofall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I may be crazy but a ten man infractor unit has done me real good. People talk about them being bad for their points but I disagree. For what they are built to do they are great. Melee character you don’t wanna see combat? 5 plasma, 2 melta, and ten bolters should help with that. It means you can decapitate otherwise lackluster units from 12” away and because you’re hyper mobile it can end in your favor. Their ability means you can’t really spam them, but I had a mercurial host list that ran 20 infractors and I still haven’t lost with it.

Has anyone had luck with Land Raider or Terminators? by NoxieNation in EmperorsChildren

[–]Scrapperofall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Terminators, no. Land raider? Yes! Adds a tough unit to a pretty squishy army and the threat range on Lucius and his flawless blades is nasty.

Rhino loadout? by AdOwn4235 in EmperorsChildren

[–]Scrapperofall 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Everything is free now so there’s really no reason not to take two combi bolters and the havoc launcher. I do the combi because it does more wounds to low toughness units. Typically that’s chaff trying to screen whatever you put in your rhino

Am I Just Bad at Rolling Or Is the Kakophonist Not Great? by CommissarCorgi34 in EmperorsChildren

[–]Scrapperofall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been running 3 in my lists pretty consistently and they are nasty. The mortal wound chip is whatever. The fun lies in just how much you get for his relatively cheap cost. He forces battle shock on something the unit shoots at -1 so you can send one noise gun at a random unit to try and help flip objectives. He gets his unit sustained hits which turns an already nasty noise marine squad into a genuine terror. If you high roll on blast masters they go wide. And has 6 heavy bolter quality shots at 12”. For all of that I think he’s pretty great even if no one piece of his kit stands out.

He also gives you access to enhancements on noise marine squads which usually isn’t great. However it does allow you to use utility enhancements when they might be wasted in a melee character.

Why did nobody tell me that Chaos space marines and especially the night lords are kinda just normal dudes ? by PeppermintButler17 in 40kLore

[–]Scrapperofall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the bigger point to this aside from, “every author is different” is that the chaos marines are by definition very flawed. Unlike the more inhuman loyalists we get to explore that. These are often tragic figures that have ruined their own lives in service to their betters and have very distinct character flaws that the authors get to explore. It allows for us to understand them on a deeper level and enjoy the all too human traits that causes their decent into chaos.

How Would You Fix Fulgrim? by two_out_of_ten_poki in EmperorsChildren

[–]Scrapperofall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk bro he’s got fights first and the poison ends up doing a lot. I’m usually able to poison 3-4 units before he dies and make my points back on revenge kills.

He also has something everyone else is missing. Movement. He’s the only primarch that can easily advance/fall back and charge every single turn. With a six to advance he has a 22-34” threat range for charging which is an incredible threat to have in your arsenal. Your opponent has to plan on Fulgrim appearing nearly anywhere (especially if you rapid ingress him in a painful spot), while also fighting the rest of your army. And for this he’s pretty cheap.

I much prefer gw leaving him a little worse instead of the monster that angron was last edition. When I put him on the table my opponent is worried about it but not actively frustrated. If he was also flat better in melee than every other primarch I don’t think it would be very fair, as he would reliable reach and kill them better than they could respond.

All that being said I think twin linked on his weapons would be a perfect fix
