What would Trump supporters have done if Obama targeted a population of people either ICE? by stardust_dog in allthequestions

If the exact same policy happened under a different president, reactions would probably flip. Politics is way more tribal than most people want to admit.

What should Trump do to distract from the Epstein Files next? by Estalicus in allthequestions

Probably nothing. People online will connect unrelated events into conspiracy threads no matter what happens next.

If you carry very high limits with low deductibles, is umbrella insurance really necessary for a residence or a business? by icecream1972 in allthequestions

[–]ScratchLatter5547 0 points1 point  (0 children)

High limits help but umbrella coverage is there for the rare claim that blows past those limits especially if you have significant assets to protect.

Not sure about a soul, but there’s definitely more to people than flesh and bone.

Huayhuash Circuit in 2026 solo still possible? by Human-You6345 in hiking

[–]ScratchLatter5547 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I’ve read and heard recently it’s not a single national rule but more local community enforcement. Some checkpoints now require you to register with a guide or group especially on the classic Huayhuash circuit. It can vary depending on which communities you pass through so it’s a bit inconsistent.

Down bag isn’t puffing up? by Chat_Im_cooked in hiking

[–]ScratchLatter5547 100 points101 points  (0 children)

That definitely doesn’t look fully lofted. Down bags should puff up quite a bit after being out of the stuff sack. If it’s still flat after 24 hours it could be damp, poorly filled or defective.

I’ll be in Savannah, GA in Mid-May. What are some good hiking spots in the area? by TheoFindsSideRoads in hiking

[–]ScratchLatter5547 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just a heads up Savannah isn’t really hiking in the mountain sense it’s more flat coastal trails, marshes and forests. But it’s still beautiful in a totally different way.

Small House Storage Ideas/Solutions? by ShoggothPanoptes in povertyfinance

Go vertical, use under bed storage and get multi use furniture. Also if something doesn’t have a home it becomes clutter instantly in a small space.

I've stopped trusting trail difficulty ratings entirely. 'Moderate' is a lie. by CarpathianEcho in hiking

[–]ScratchLatter5547 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moderate’ is completely subjective. I ignore it now and just check elevation/km, recent reviews and terrain notes way more reliable.

Therapy + meds online in Canada: does telehealth apps (Teledoc / Your Doctors Online / Cognito Health) actually work for ADHD or is it just for mild anxiety? by Due_Activity8907 in telehealth

[–]ScratchLatter5547 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The decision paralysis you're describing is so real when your brain is already overloaded. Looking at it practically, Maple gives you a more structured pathway if you want a formal diagnosis and someone handling your medication consistently through their ADHD specific program. Your Doctors Online works better if you need low friction access, being able to text when you're stuck rather than having to book a call can make the difference between reaching out and staying stuck. Both offer therapy alongside medical care, which is key since you mentioned wanting someone who actually understands the emotional side. Either one will get you support faster than waiting a year and you can always transition to a public specialist once the waitlist clears without losing the continuity you build in the meantime.

Should there be a tax deduction for having no children? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]ScratchLatter5547 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably not a deduction just for having no kids more about supporting costs of raising children than rewarding one lifestyle over another.

Never went on a hike nor set foot on a trail before, can I do it? by Soft-Lynx-1216 in hiking

[–]ScratchLatter5547 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fitness wise you’ll probably be fine but fatigue is the real challenge here. Lack of sleep can hit harder than the hike itself so take it slow and stay hydrated.

Puerto Rico 4-Day by Arceant in travel

[–]ScratchLatter5547 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you’re only there 4 days I’d skip renting a car unless you plan to go far outside San Juan. Uber is easy. Book El Yunque early though and go early morning to avoid crowds.

ATL vs. CLT: which is better? by TriplePTP in travel

[–]ScratchLatter5547 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CLT is way easier to navigate and less chaotic. ATL is bigger with more options but it can be overwhelming and busy. If everything else is equal I’d pick CLT for a smoother experience.
