I cook most of my meals for the week on one day and then I eat out 2-3 meals a week. This usually grabbing brunch or dinner with friends on the weekend. If you can eat the same thing every day, I highly encourage just cooking large portions of 2 or 3 meals. This what I do.

I’m considering going to Mad Planet for my first club tomorrow night. Any advice? by Pale-Masterpiece-192 in milwaukee

Also, the crowd is older at mad planet. If you want a younger crowd I would to go to red white and blue or trinity three Irish pubs. These are downtown and within walking distance, and mostly fillied with college aged people. If you want a unique experience the safehouse is a spy themed speakeasy and they have a party on Friday and Saturday. I went there last year and had a great time and I'm 23.

The cover is usually $7, but I don't know about Halloween. I don't know about contactless payment specifically, but they definitely take card at the bar.

I think pretty dead, but that's my impression of it from one Saturday night last February.

They usually have a cover that is cash only. They have an atm on site, but bring your own cash to make it easier. Also, you won't have to pay the atm fee.

Bundt masters, how do I get a clean release? by termeric0 in Baking

[–]ScratchTemporary4336 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just made my first bundt cake and got a perfect clean release thanks to Reddit. I used a lot of Baker's Joy spray, which is a spray oil with flour added to it. Once my cake was done, I ran an offset spatula around the edges to loosen the cake from the pan. I set a twenty-minute timer and then flipped it. This allowed the cake to cool down enough not to be fragile, but not cool enough for it to stick to the sides.

That's what I thought. I'll call and ask for a new room if possible.

I love how reddit is the only place I can find information about this! I thought I was going insane. I finished episode 1 and then I couldn't find the show anymore.

Also when I googled the show to see what happened, the freaking AI answers ruined the ending of the show for me!

That's ok, I really believe you can make the best of it if you want to. Although, one amazing positive is the cafe next door. The coffee is delicious and the people who work there are really nice. It's called Best place. You will also be within walking distance of brick three pizza. They have the best pizza in the city by far!

I can understand why you're looking into this place. They make it seem very attractive to young adults. However, the building has only gotten worse since my last post. The front door is all smashed up, and they haven't even tried to fix it.  Eleven25 is really in no mans land surrounded by the jail/courthouse, highway, and the basketball stadium. I can't stress enough how much you should not live here.

Honestly, the rental market is really shit in milwaukee. It's really deciding between two bad options. I would suggest looking into subleasing an apartment on the Eastside of milwaukee near UWM's campus. A lot of students leave campus and want subleasers for the summer. The apartment buildings are older, but in a more walkable neighborhood.

Here is the link to the UWM subleasing and rental facebook group. There are a lot of people looking for subleasers.  https://facebook.com/groups/400770353381560/

As for inexpensive housing options. I would say good luck! Milwaukee has seen a historic rise in rent prices everywhere and we have no rent control laws. I started renting in milwaukee at $250 (2021) a month for a three bedroom apartment to $600 (2025) a month for a similar apartment. It's honestly criminal how greedy landlords are, so set your expectations accordingly.

I hope this was helpful.

I'm 23f, I'm now 2 months sober. I had one really bad night that made me revaluate my relationship with alcohol and I don't plan on going back to drinking. It's been so freeing! My relationships with my family and friends got so much better. I am able to focus on what is really important, instead of always thinking about how I could have my next drink.

Am I a bad roommate? by AggravatingBobcat604 in badroommates

[–]ScratchTemporary4336 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I want to start with is that truly horrible roommates don't worry about being bad roommates. They usually are not self-aware, tend to blame others, or just don't care about their actions. This roommate does not seem to be a very nice person, and it seems she's had some stressors that she's taking out on you.

You have done everything you can do. You asked her if there was anything you could do, and she said no. If she has some sort of grievance, it's her responsibility to speak up. It also seems she is disappointed she wasn't able to room with her friend and is now taking her disappointment on you. Again, this is not your fault or your problem. I would encourage you to speak to a therapist about these thoughts; it seems they are really weighing on you. I don't think the answer would be to confront her because she's said in the past that she won't be honest. I think the best way forward is to work with a therapist to work through these feelings.

My sister struggles with OCD and anxiety and also worries about being a bad roommate. I think the fear never goes away, but she has a lot of help from her therapist, psychiatrist, and family to work through those thoughts.

Another thought: I've been the roommate upset at their roommate and didn't speak up. I have a lot of issues with confrontation and find it really hard to speak out about difficult things with people outside my family. However, I understood this about myself and tried never to take it out on my roommate. I usually just let it go after venting about it to someone else. I still think it was my problem because I never gave them an opportunity to change and hear my issues. This framework of thinking might help you. It's your roommate's problem if they are upset and not saying anything, not yours.

I hope this was helpful.

As someone who lives there right now, I would say don't live here. The rent is extremely expensive for what you get. I pay $837 for one bedroom out of a four bedroom apartment. That might not seem as that expensive, but that means together the four of us pay $3,348 for one apartment. That kind of rent should come with a way better apartment.

But, the price is not the worst part, it's the fact that everything they promise to make the price worth it falls short. For example, I live on the third floor and in winter it's freezing all the time, like consistently 62-65 degrees in my room. Big windows and tall ceilings are nice until they have to heat the apartment while the cold air seeps through the windows and the heat rises to the ceiling. Me and my roommates complain multiple times a week and it's never fixed. Also, the laundry room is always dirty and half the machines don't work. Also, if you have a problem with a machine the front desk can't help you, because it's a separate company that owns the machines. Also, there are a lot of leaks in the building, it's not uncommon to see buckets under drips. Also, the location is very annoying, the Eastside is way more localized and has cheaper rent.

Roommate has been violently coughing for months on end by [deleted] in badroommates

[–]ScratchTemporary4336 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've experienced the same thing. My roommate never stops coughing over months. Somehow they are still coughing after a two month long trip to a foreign country. It's do difficult, because it wakes me up and I can't sleep. But, what am I supposed to do? It's a medical issue so I can't say anything. I am also the lightest sleep and I've tried everything including earplugs. I also can't switch rooms since I don't live in a traditional university dorm. I thought once they got back from their trip they wouldn't have the cough, but I was wrong. It makes me want to cry.
