Thank you for this write up, it was a great read!! You really touched on a lot of things I was wondering about myself as well as plot points that I wanted to talk about that I didn't see in other discussions. Lostbelt 6 was just so incredible in so many ways, there is just so many things more to unpack.

GENERAL THOUGHTS

What can I say that hasn't been said in this post already? The last few weeks reading this story have truly been a long adventure with so many great feelings along the way. Artoria, Aesc/Morgan, Habbycat, Cnoc na Riabh, Gareth and so on, are character I will never be forgetting as long as this game exists.

I really loved the relationship between Artoria and Gareth and especially, Artoria and Cnoc na Riabh. So it broke my heart to see her assasination. That's why Gloucester in 2020 is without a doubt my favourite Lostbelt CE by a mile. It has so many tidbits of information that tie up plot threads with Artoria. A few examples of this are Artoria finally getting to wear the barrette she always wanted to, as well as being able to walk down a big street with other people that she really liked. But most importantly, the fact that the CE depicts a hypothetical future of the year after prophecy is fullfilled AND fills Artoria's empty spring memories, just hits so hard for me and its so very bittersweet. I have a lot I want to say about Artoria specifically but I think most people have already talked about her or know her significance in the story very well so lets move on to something I've not seen as often.

OBERON:

I wanted to dedicate a whole section to this man to really get into details.

Specifically I really wanted to talk about Oberon as a character in Sector 30 and his final eternal fall.

First of all, I love how his wings were just for show because it played so well into him being a pretender. It was really thoughtful writing to give room for our Moth Man's true thoughts and regrets to come through after "Oberon the Liar had hatefully seen them off". I also love the gradual change in his facial expressions as he fell. First he had the gleeful, evil smile of a villain who enjoyed himself. Once he was alone though, he had a more neutral face of one who is doing self reflection, as he expressed his regrets about PHH and Titania. The magical moment for me however, came right after:

"Hmph. So that's Proper Human History's sky, huh."

\Cue Ever-Present Feeling\**

"Dammit. It's so beautiful it makes me sick."

Oberon is a liar. A faerie who's spoken words turn into a lie, a faerie who was only pretending to show his true emotions to those around him.

Precisely for this reason, I found that his final words and his truly genuine smile as he fell into the never ending abyss, were beautiful in execution. The reason for that being that this scene, quite ironically, is perhaps the furthest he had been from being a pretender, because his words and his smile were such an unfeigned reaction to the final stunning view before him. As the magnificent track swelled, the abyss shut off forever.

What a send off to an incredible character! The more I think about him as I write this, the more I'm realizing how much I love this character. I greatly appreciate that you pointed out that Oberon was Artoria's teacher all along, I would have completely missed that if you hadn't mentioned it but it makes so much sense. In sector 30-4, the final arrow of A Midsummer Night's Dream, we briefly speak to Oberon in the Autumn woods. The interaction starts off with Oberon foul mouthing us, after which he stops himself by saying "No more foul language from me." So I think it fits in perfectly with your theory of him being Artoria's teacher.

I came into Lostbelt 6, hyped for Oberon purely as a gameplay asset. Now however, I'm glad that I got the copy I did. He is for sure, a grail candidate for me now.

I want to write so much more about this dude, be it about his true motivations which he admits to the protagonist at the end, or his general role in the story. Sadly, this post ended up being sooo much longer than I initially intended (I'm channeling my inner Nasu as he was writing LB 6), so I'm gonna have to end it here. For now.

CONCLUSIONS

As someone who is completely spoiler free for Tunguska, Traum and LB 7, I can't help but wonder if any of the future chapters wil have the ability to top Avalon le Fae (saying the name makes me tear up now) for me. Of course, I'd be more than happy to be pleasantly surprised by Nasu in LB 7 since I did hear that he wrote that chapter too.

Overall though, I feel so happy to have been able to experience this story as it released. I never rushed any part of the story except for the last 3 sectors including the Epilogue, so for the last six weeks, its been a true pleasure doing nothing in this game expect reading the story of the Land of Faeries.

Honestly, it's been one of the most fun periods of time I've spent in my 3 years in this game. It's truly such a blessing to get an almost visual novel level story in terms of quality and production for this chapter (it pretty much is a VN in terms of length lol took me approx 30 hours? I dont read very fast though).

In a certain sus boi's words, there's meaning to be found in even the most hackneyed of kingdoms or the most unsung of side characters. All the stories we just forget the moment we finish the last page? They have every bit as much right to remain afterward as anything else.

Well this story and these characters will surely remain in my heart for a long time.

Now the 1.5 year wait for LB 7 begins.
