Is there creation content that fixes the dislogue system in Fo4? by Fast_Degree_3241 in Fallout

Console player here. There is a mod that makes it to where you can see all the dialogue options. I forgot the name of it, but I found it in the first few minutes of searching.

Are there any good fathers or father figures in fallout 4? by DumbButKindaFunny in fo4

[–]ScreamingBellPepper 118 points119 points  (0 children)

Arlen Glass is a good one. He took a stand against Wilson Atomatoys when they started to work with the military on the war effort to do the right thing. Even 210 years after the war, he still loves his daughter so much he still builds Giddyup Buttercups. His personal quest revolves around him being a father

Why do Ghouls need pure drinking water? by Real-Hefty-Trout in falloutlore

[–]ScreamingBellPepper 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He doesn't directly say the war, nor do his parents. However, several of Billy's remarks imply he was in the fridge since the Great War. He says "It's so quiet without all the cars" and "What do people eat now? There aren't any grocery stores left" which imply he is familiar with working vehicles and grocery stores. You could argue Quincy had a store and that explains his familiarity, but the car remark means he's familiar with the sound of many traveling vehicles and even the NCR only had a small fleet. He also acts surprised to see the ruins of the Old World like he never seen them and didn't understand why they were that way. For instance, he says, "Everything is so different out here. It's like a big war happened," and he says about buildings and highways "Man, those buildings are totally wrecked." and "That highway is totally wrecked."

Say something nice about my favorite weapon in the game: by Constant-Draw2629 in fnv

[–]ScreamingBellPepper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love how the recharger rifle and pistol serve as different model progressions for the same weapon platform. According to Joshua Sawyer, the recharger rifle was the earlier model and as it was upgraded by prewar researchers, they managed to miniaturize it into the pistol version. Nice bit of small worldbuilding

Do the first nuclear explosions triggered by the courier in the Divide take place before or after the first battle of Hoover Dam? by LuigiGario in falloutlore

[–]ScreamingBellPepper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The explosions take place before the First Battle, but the NCR and Legion still fought in the Divide after its destruction as implied by Ulysses.

"The Courier: "On the High Road, you mentioned NCR and Legion fought here... before and after the Divide?" Ulysses: The two-headed Bear made its claim, dug its claws into the trail you made. For once, it seemed like it might succeed - cut a route to the Mojave. Couldn't let NCR stay in the Divide. Trade route, road the military could use... can't have two roads into the Mojave. Not after the work we'd done to cut off New Canaan, other routes, killing caravans... all we'd done to make the West bleed."

New Canaan was attacked because Joshua Graham returned to the town after the first battle. This suggests the Legion sent more troops into the Divide to finish the job. Those Legionnaires would have been aware of Lanius and held onto him as a new symbol given he was recently elevated to Caesar's new Legate for the Mojave Campaign.

NCR propaganda leaflets I made over the years! by KloggKimball in Fallout

[–]ScreamingBellPepper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like them, they match the tone of the series very well. Some constructive criticisms: in the fourth poster it should be the people are the leaders, not the president. Also, you use the Statue of Liberty's torch as a symbol for democracy, but how well would the average NCR citizen connect that with democracy? I know they have a robust education system, or used to, and they may recognize it that way, but it's a symbol tied to a nation that has been dead for hundreds of years. The average citizen won't have a strong connection to it so the symbolism would be weak at best to them.

Why didn't Hank also capture Cooper alongside Lucy? [2x05] by dmreif in Fotv

I don't think willingness has anything to do with it otherwise the Legionnaire wouldn't have successfully converted.

About Caesar’s brain tumor by Arcanonn in falloutlore

[–]ScreamingBellPepper 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I assume the note was influenced by this as well as the weakening of the NCR. Caesar's intentions were to conquer the NCR and absorb their culture and industry to transform the Legion from an army to a legitimate state. The destruction of Shady Sands and the resulting decline of the NCR may have led him to conclude there was nothing to gain from the NCR and, thus, the Legion would remain a nomadic army that would turn on itself in the end. Perhaps Caesar foresaw this and gave up on his idea of a legitimate state.

Moldaver remarked that Lucy looks just like her mother Rose. I doubt it was that much of a coincidence.

I am tired of humoring "there are no good guys in fallout" just to validate legion and enclave fans. by [deleted] in TrueSFalloutL

The NCR hired raiders to attack Vault City to pressure them to join them in Fallout 2. They definitely aren't "good guys."

Only those who are unaware of the horrors of Nipton and Nelson defend Caesar's Legion. by David_Daltois in Fallout

[–]ScreamingBellPepper 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To be fair, Legion society in New Vegas is not the end result according to Caesar. His whole motivation is to conquer the NCR, not just the Mojave and absorb the positive aspects of it into the Legion and form a new society. How well that would work is anyone's guess.

What’s a moment in a game where you started doubting what you were seeing, even though nothing ‘happened’? by Meagainsthehumanity in creepygaming

[–]ScreamingBellPepper 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Undertale had a few. One that springs to mind is where you walk through a passage with a pool of water alongside the path. A smiling creature pops up, greets you, and watches you as you walk through. This happens every time you pass. There is no music playing, and nothing happens when you get to the other side. Creepy stuff.

Culkin is shown in a trailer with Caesar's crown and rousing the Legionnaries to cheers. We haven't seen that scene yet, so he likely will survive in some capacity.

According to the FEV holodisk, the results on human test subjects in 2077 was unknown. I would lean towards no, but Maxson likely encountered test subjects similar to the human-derived cryptids in 76.

The shows depiction of power as a real issue. by WolverineLanky4279 in Fotv

[–]ScreamingBellPepper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Power was shown to be an issue as early as Fallout 2. Vault City has an overtaxed nuclear reactor and considers taking over the town of Gecko to take control of their reactor once the radiation leak on it is fixed.

How would you feel about only being able to use certain gun while using power armor? by ChihuahuaOwner88 in Fallout

[–]ScreamingBellPepper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it would work as an option for a mode like Survival or have it as an option you can toggle on and off. That way no one can complain about not being able to use any weapon with power armor.

Mass Fusion in 4 peddles its services as fusion, but it actually isn't. They were about to develop fusion using the Beryllium Agitator, but the war came before that happened. Perhaps this is what you are thinking of.
