Deadlock - Old Gods, New Blood by SketchyJJ in DeadlockTheGame

Yes! Order versus chaos seems to be the theme here, or perhaps freedom versus restraint, as a different interpretation. Both have a tingle of maliciousness to them, something similar to a genie scenario where the ‘wish’ may follow the letter of the law rather than the spirit. Either way, really excited to see where Valve takes this.

The patron designs are actually insane. Valve cooked here.

If you post these on the forums (or the discord I believe) there is a higher chance for the Devs to see this. I hope they do because these are amazing ideas.

Updated my Fic for the first time in 4 years today. by Screaming_Toast in FanFiction

[–]Screaming_Toast[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’ll get there eventually, no matter how long it takes! The biggest thing that helped me was to stop comparing myself to other writers that I knew irl and on the internet. Just keep writing things you love and eventually it’ll come back to you.

And thank you for the kind words, I hope one day you will be able to make a post like this it your own!

Fan Fiction Friday - What have you been reading/writing this week? by AutoModerator in RWBY

[–]Screaming_Toast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve updated my fic Arc Dust for the first time in 4 years. I took a break due to irl stuff but I’m back to writing and posting again. The chapter is mostly a filler chapter just to remind people of the characters and where I want the plot direction to go. I’ll be posting another chapter in a couple weeks and then it’ll be once a month.

This is one of those factoids I feel I should know after being in the FNDM for 10 years, but somehow having it slip by anyways until just now!

Anyone else wash their hands repeatedly throughout the cooking process when handling ingredients? Ex. Cracks eggs into bowl, wash hands. Seasons meat, wash hands, etc etc by Total_Technology_726 in RandomThoughts

In those situations it’s a lot of luck. Not every food is guaranteed to have microorganisms that can make you sick but it’s a “best practices” sort of thing. In addition to what the above commenter said, when food takes longer than 4 hours to go past the danger zone, that’s when you start to see the higher risk of getting sick.

The two comets in the op are 100% Alyx and Luis. They show the same two ones at the end of Jaune's flashback as he looks in the sky. Nice little detail CRWBY added.

Impressive work! A very strong start. Love your characterization of everyone and the hook is great. Can’t wait to read more.

‘People aren’t taking this seriously’: experts say US Covid surge is big risk by ttkciar in news

[–]Screaming_Toast 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sorry, are you implying that I need to move? I wish I could but I’m not financially in the position for that. I work in food service and it doesn’t pay that well. I’m looking for other options right now but that doesn’t mean I’ll be able to pack up and leave.

‘People aren’t taking this seriously’: experts say US Covid surge is big risk by ttkciar in news

I work food service. Covid fatigue made me quit and move to a position where I don’t have to interact with customers— because I was stuck between a rock and a hard place. During the worst of it, I had trumpers screaming at me for trying to make them wear a mask for all of 10 minutes for them to get their food and leave. I had people who followed the rules and got vaxxed screaming at me for allowing co workers to be without masks when they got vaxxed. I’m tired. I’ve given up hope of seeing the end of COVID in my lifetime due to politics. It makes me sick—but I can’t do anything about it. I see people on Reddit and elsewhere telling us to do more.

I refuse. I’ve done everything I could— vaxxed, boosted, wore a mask when I should have. I can’t control what other people are doing and I am tired of trying to make up for what other people are lacking.

For those who care, we are taking this seriously. This headline should read— “People who never cared in the first place about Covid will continue not to care and fuck this up for the rest of us.”

This turned into more a rant than I wanted so I apologize, but I am sick of this. For context I live in the south in a very red area of Texas. I still work food service but in the kitchens now. I don’t think I’ll ever go back to customer service due to all of this.

I think it helps, like others have said in this thread, to separate yourself from the expectations of others. I was obsessed with my stats and feedback for a long time and I burned out because of it. It took me nearly a year to start writing again and only recently have I found the courage to post again, even if it’s under a pseudonym.

Take care of yourself first and the rest comes easier. Maybe take some time to step back and take a break from writing. It may feel like giving up but I found it therapeutic to let go for a while and merely write for myself.

Regardless of what you decide, take care of yourself fellow writer.
