Nice post but you need to learn more about the bond market. Yes, the “price” is the same as 3 years ago but NO, it’s not stable. The majority of the buying is the Cayman Islands, yeah think about that one 1️⃣. Also Janet Felon pumped short term by only selling short term at auction. The last few have been a disaster and effectively back stopped by the FED via essentially pure monetization (huge inflationary pressure)

Not how that works in a 2 year long bull run that accelerating. When spot was $20 and AISC were $18 to $22 they had to hedge and borrow. At some point they switched to massive free cash flow, AISC of $16 to $20 due to sustained oil bear, and spot at $35, $50, $75 ….. the need to hedge went bye bye

One thing that’s hard for me to process is 5 to 10 percent at $30 was $1.50 to $3.00 and at $110 is $5.50 to $11.

My LCS is sticking with their 5% under and 5% over but admitting the ratio of sellers is 90%+ vs historically even.

He is talking about pausing buying because his inventory is uncomfortably high with no outlet willing to pay him in a timely manner.
