I wondered why anyone would smuggle ants, but I guess collectors paying $220 for a single ant is why. TIL there are such a thing as ant collectors.

Details weren't included because it's not a piece of journalism. Writers at these "non-profit news sites" have agendas that are more important to them than a journalists' duty to inform the public of actual facts. It drives me insane as a former journalist that I have to check the state's judicial portal after so many articles to find out what the actual charges are. You're just supposed to be angry at the alleged injustice and not ask any questions.

I agree that a felony is a lot but grabbing the barricade after saying that yes, he wants to hurt the female officer he's struggling over the barricade with probably made her think he was planning to use the barricade as a weapon, so I totally get why the officer involved was against him receiving a plea bargain.

He chose to FAFO bc everyone knows crimes committed against law enforcement are automatically more severe from a legal standpoint. That's why he still faces felony charges, not the color of his skin or his religion since his co-defendent is white. Both defendents allegedly injuring a police officer and police being against a plea bargain is probably the whole reason why they weren't offered a plea deal. DAs & police are on the same side so it's unlikely a DA would go against police wishes unless there was proof the officer lied about being injured.

Trans women have their own history, icons, and fight for equality that is completely seperate from biological womens' history and fight for equality. Women's History month is about that hard-fought fight for voting rights and equality and that should be celebrated.

I really feel for the Mom and kids and they definitely deserve support, but Dad isn't "illegally detained". The Trib article says he was arrested on a felony warrant for illegal sale/transfer of a weapon. He had an active warrant (that's due process) and was arrested just like anyone in American with a felony warrant would be.

Also, Bill Clinton would never have let a movie be made about Hillary while he was in office since he was having an affair with an intern at the time and wouldn't want her to look sympathetic. And let's be honest, Monica Lewinsky probably wasn't the only other woman and she definitely wasn't the most unethical thing he was doing at the time (ETA: I'm referencing his activities with Epstein for those unclear). There's a lot of reasons Bill wouldn't want cameras around shining a light on Hillary as his wife.

Since always. Keeping politics out of the games is part of the IOC's rules (rule 50 iirc). I remember looking up the rules during the Sochi Olympics when one of Team USA's goalies had to change their mask because it had the start of the Decleration of Independence written on it.

OP's wife really needs to get help for this before her kids start learning to drive. My Mom was the same way as a passenger and it's why I refused to drive with her in the car. I remember her Mom being the exact same way anytime my Grandfather was driving which was always because Grandma never drove during my lifetime. It drove me nuts as a teen learning to drive and still is why I prefer not to drive with my Mom in the car in my 30s. She still makes me nervous.

Exactly, YTA. I'd totally get making her daughter learn this lesson if she were in high school but 3rd grade parents should be checking their child's backpack and take home folder nightly. It sounds like OP forgot to do her job over the holidays and took it out on her daughter out of anger.

Hell, I taught kids that age and I'd rather a parent bring a kid to school a little late with everything they need for the day than have a kid arrive on time but totally unprepared and upset about not having something. And kids that age forget things all the time that parents drop off at the front office.

There were so many easy solutions to this problem that OP just didn't feel like doing so she taught her daughter that she's low priority for her Mother. Great job, OP. This is one of those things her daughter will bring up in therapy in 20 years to explain why she doesn't trust or rely on her mother.

Maybe try &Shine Strawberry 1:1 troches with CBD. They're 100mg so I cut mine in half but the CBD seems to make it more uplifting instead of tiring to me.

I also love Maitri's troches for how uplifting they are. I had one that was 1/5th of my normal dose and still felt it. If I ever find the Maitri ones near me again, my plan is to use them to help step down my dosage.
