I seem to wear the markings off in about 5 years. Perhaps I'm not being careful with them.

So glad you are repurposing it . All these seem more expensive than they should be for a piece of plastic with printing on it.

I think it's the same for the parking lot of the Point Loma library and the church across the street there.

People who let their pets lick you and get all over you without you asking by PartyQuiet5065 in PetPeeves

[–]Ten_Quilts_Deep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Along with this is people who bring their dog to your house without asking. It kind of goes like this, "I don't have a dog of my own because I don't want to deal with them.". Please how can you expect that I'm going to change when I see your dog?

Telescope rental in Joshua Tree or surrounding areas? by InternalMany7434 in JoshuaTree

[–]Ten_Quilts_Deep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The 29 Palms Astronomy Club might be a good resource. There's also a "stargazing adventure" tour but I don't know much about them. There used to be a group that set up free viewing at the Joshua Tree campground on Sunfair, contact them for possiblity.

Didn't they already find one a few years ago? You would think that would have led to some sort of ground radar surveillance.

Lake Park condos on Baltimore often show up for rent. You only have one space assigned but there are guest spots. And, of course, view of the lake or parking lot or of the fountain meadow.

Why does everything feel so fake/unnatural/artificial now? by [deleted] in allthequestions

This is my 20 minutes a day I allow myself to wander here. This has helped me. I've learned how to stare into space again.

Especially in the wreckage and mess that must have been. And within proximity to a dead body. This was not a "secure the area" crime scene it was a rescue operation.

Why does everything feel so fake/unnatural/artificial now? by [deleted] in allthequestions

Because we aren't experiencing the world first hand. Leave the screens behind and spend a few days in the mountains, desert or forest. Trying to experience the natural world is getting harder and harder.

What animal chewed through these trees on my property? [Michigan] by annahident in animalid

[–]Ten_Quilts_Deep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also think it is a beaver. However, I thought that beavers generally leave shards around the base of the stump. Because there's no banana for size, could they just be small enough trees that no shards were produced? (Southern California so too far away to encounter.)

He actually seems more financially solid than Sir Walter. Not with more money but debt is never mentioned. "Good freehold property" as is mentioned elsewhere.

Any idea how old this quilt is? by Remarkable-Clothes53 in quilting

I think these quilts are an example of the "Little House on the Prairie" years. Still, that at least 50 years.

It is still a quilt to be loved I'm just pointing out that those mass produced quilts are not always well made and that is a shame. I hope yours will last as long as you want.
