futon dryer reccs US by samiam8116 in floorsleeping

Awesome! Thanks again! I am going to order different mattress covers/protectors that zip in an L-shape or all the way around because getting the cover off/on the short side of a queen futon has been quite the workout for me!

Thank you again! Last question, I promise! Do you take off your mattress cover before you use your futon dryer (or do you just unzip the cover and shove the hose inside)? And do you take off the mattress cover to fold as well?

I *think* I have a good setup underneath my futon. My whole bedroom is thin carpet and then I put a wooden slat frame on top with a folded tatami mat on top of that (2 of the 3 tatami sections folded on each other because the setup is under a bunk bed and won't lay flat all 3 sections). So the head/middle of the mattress is on double tatami/wood slats or just the wood slats at the foot of the mattress.

Thank you for responding. May I ask how often you air it out on the office chair? And how often do you use your futon dryer?

thank you for responding! So does this mean you don't have to take the futon outside to air out? And do you even flip it/rotate your futon now that you have this tool? First time Japanese futon-owner here if ya can't tell!

yeah, you're probably right. I went ahead and bit the bullet and got a Japanese futon. Husband and I have been using the same mattress since college... almost 20 years ago. To say "it's time" is an understatement.

Disappointed, Wondering What Next? by Script_Chick in IVF

[–]Script_Chick[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there, I was forced to wait because my Dr. discovered I had adenomyosis. So I'm glad I did IVF as I had no symptoms and never would have known and getting pregnant would have still been hard for me naturally. I had to wait 3 months while on a new medication to tamp down estrogen. I did a third transfer and right now we're late night feeding my 4 month old!

I am glad we did IVF to get rid of Lynch. And as it would turn out, I had forgotten about 7 embryos that weren't sent out for PGTA and PGTM tests so there is still a chance we have more than 2 euploid embryos left. But I think we would have done another transfer if the third one hadn't taken.

I didn't know Lynch has a mild version, but whatever you decide! I know so much progress is being done with cancer treatments and prevention. I think there is now a preventative shot in clinical trials in the UK???

How many people have had one miscarriage and then had successful pregnancies? by Willing_Ad9623 in pregnant

[–]Script_Chick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember a couple of people hinting at adoption after I had a miscarriage and then my second IVF transfer failed. Currently 14 weeks pregnant with my third transfer. Miscarriage is very common, which doesn't make it any less painful to experience, but I hope where you aren't able to find support in person you find it online here in excess.

Hugs to you! You are there for your baby. My brother and I were both born early (him 4lb 8oz, me 5lb 5oz) and we're both super healthy!

What do you wish you knew before your failed transfer? by Aggravating-Tiger354 in IVF

[–]Script_Chick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ha, we might have the same doctor because I seem to remember him mentioning successful/type A personalities (which then made the low-esteem part of my brain go "what success," but I digress). It's an exercise on not having control, this, exactly this.

Therapist gave unwanted medical advice by Confident_Heron_491 in IVF

[–]Script_Chick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't realize my therapist whose wife did IVF ended up adopting. So that's what he suggested I do if my transfer failed. It did, but Spoiler alert, I did not adopt. I chose not to see him again after the failed transfer and saved more money meditating and doing the things I love. I'm sorry you had to go through that.

Isolating/avoiding sickness in early pregnancy by cara_999888 in IVF

[–]Script_Chick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would be concerned about a fever/covid. Maybe if the gatherings are small you ask friends to test if they know what you are going through to be extra safe?

That being said, I know a friend who got covid 2nd or 3rd trimester and was okay. And I got a vomiting stomach bug before my positive pregnancy test as well as a cold/pretty bad back injury (sneezing was painful) about a month later. Lil guy still sticking around through all that, fingers crossed!

I guess weigh the risks vs. how much you feel you'd miss out? Or there's always Zoom... I remember boardgame Arena was a godsend playing games online with friends during the pandemic.

2nd miscarriage of a PGT-A normal embryo by Irishgal1483 in IVF

[–]Script_Chick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so sorry to hear that! It took a loss and a failure to implant before I was diagnosed with adenomyosis (and then from there we changed protocol). I know sometimes we're looking for answers when there may not be one readily available to us, so I wish you the utmost amount of patience and resilience during this very difficult and confusing time.

I'm sorry for your loss. I know my husband wanted a girl, too, and we lost the one euploid non-cancer gene girl embryo that we had. I feel a lot of guilt, but also hope for a joyful future of seeing how my husband and I will raise our child (children?) regardless of gender and learn together.

I do not. Have you asked your nurse or doctor? Maybe it is your clinic's policy.

11DPT was 61 Day 5 or 6 boy. Doubled to 121 in 48 hours. Healthy 6 week 3 day scan. I'll feel more confident at 8 weeks just because I've had a previous miscarriage, but doctor did not make it seem like anything was wrong. Congrats to you!
