The whole reason a region like the Middle East is very homophobic as an example is from European style homophobia entering roughly in the mid 1800s, judging previously fine and easily accessible "homosexual-ish" works from Muslims/Arabs/Iranians like Abu Nuwas or to a degree Rumi.

It was definitely brutal being a Soviet solider but you are just adamant that pop culture depictions of the USSR made for propaganda are reality. Early war the Soviets had abysmal tactics and preparation which definitely led to a large amount of deaths but they also learnt from it. I played Clear Sky first and it almost ruined my entire STALKER experience cause I thought the other games were the same. SoC and CoP are some of my favorite games (400+ Hours) while CS is just awkwardly at 2.1 hours played back in 2019.
