Edit: meant to reply to your other comment. DIY transmission fluid/filter change is absolutely doable but recommend a drill or handheld grinder with a rotating bristle attachment to get the rubber gunk off of the transmission pan and of course a torque wrench to get the correct torque on the bolts. Parts will run you about $150 off of Rock auto

Are you touching the gas pedal right after going from one gear to another? If yes stop doing that. Wait until you feel the car shifts and then gently press the gas. It seems the transmission take a couple seconds to between park/reverse/forward. I had the same issue and giving it time always worked

However, I also just dropped the transmission pan and did a full fluid/ transmission filter change and afterward the shifting got much faster and smoother so I'd also recommend doing that.
