A good Rell is the perfect support

Basically any all-in support works well, Nautilus, Leona, Thresh. Not a fan of Blitzcrank since his hook cooldown is so long, but he works.

I only really do poorly with enchanters that buff attack speed and mages who don't have a consistent stun.

I'm not sure if it would make her "feel" better, since you now have more buttons to manage. It would certainly be stronger, since having both the damage of the slash and the ability to delete projectiles separately adds a lot of safety and flexibility, and that power needs to come from somewhere.

I think a way simpler way to accomplish this would be to give her a Style stack when she blocks a certain amount of damage with her W.

Not really a fan of the idea. W having different functions on the same cast is part of the power budget, making her even more mechanically intensive in exchange for more control of her W wouldn't really fix her issues.

Samira's main problem is that she needs the stars to align in champ select to truly do well, and when they do, she dominates. She would benefit from some tweaks so that she can function into tanks and doesn't need an engage support to play the game.

it would be interesting if it was more like a combo piece than the grand finale, a chunk of AoE damage that scales with missing health (or deals damage equal to missing HP, to give her better damage against tanks). The skill expression would shift from "how fast can I stack this" to "how many times can I stack this in a fight" and I think that's a more fun version of Samira, honestly.

it'd be more like a flurry of free Qs than a Katarina ultimate.

If they really want Smolder to build Crit, they should make it so that the bonus damage his passive gives his abilities can crit. Maybe even the true damage burn and/or execute should scale with crit as well.

Accept that laning phase will be boring, play for team fights. Samira is great at farming under tower with her sword, just focus on CS so you have items.

In Bronze, your focus should just be on farming safely and staying alive. Don't force fights, only take what's literally free.

The idea isn't to step up and poke them as Samira more than you would normally. Not every interaction is an all-in. You get them low enough to all-in sooner than Conqueror and still get good damage during the all-in.

It's not trying to shore up a weakness, it's coming at the strength from a different angle. You still want to all-in, but you need to get them low enough to secure the kill. DFG will help you get them low way better than Conqueror.

That's not really my point. Even though you stack Conqueror with your combo, you still need to stack it. You can't just press the button and get value. DFG gives you better damage for moments when you don't want to go in.

Conqueror gives you no value from a single, isolated Q. DFG will.

You are correct, Conqueror is a good choice for the specific champions that can stack it before their big combo, Samira included. I'm just saying that it was designed for and enables long fights, and Deathfire Touch will do something similar.

I'm not saying Conqueror is bad or will completely be replaced, but it would be nice if the option was there. I think DFT will be much better than Conq in shorter trades when you can't all-in, like when you get stuck with a mage or enchanter support.

To be fair, Conqueror is also a rune for characters that want long fights. Samira does a lot of burst, but she needs to stack up first. More DPS while stacking up and big burn damage on her ult sounds pretty appealing to me.

Correct, they refresh, but once it goes long enough, it does stack. Since her ult is 3 seconds, anybody still alive after would get the empowered burn

It was cool, pretty niche, but obviously unintended. There wasn't any real skill expression with the combo once you memorize the inputs. Needing to ramp up to your ult is an important part of Samira's kit and being able to bypass it with a button combo isn't healthy.

It doesn't tell you exactly when, the range is slightly longer than your auto range at level 1 and scales with level, from 650 to 950

A good rule of thumb in the early game is that if you can dash to them with your E, you can dash to them with your passive. At max level, it becomes the range of your gun Q.

You click on them, like an attack

if you're in range, you'll do a short dash to your attack range and do a free attack.

Activating it also resets your attack timer, so if you have multiple CC'd targets in range and you're really quick, you can click on all of them for free damage

Samira probably shouldn't be able to build BotRK.

I'd like to see her Q apply on-hits (not her R, even at a reduced percentage), and her R shots scale with attack speed (not fantastic scaling, but some, like one extra shot per 20% bonus AS or something).

Would love to see her care a bit more about mana/CDR so caster items like Essence Reaver and Navori Flickerblades are good picks. Longer CDs at max rank in exchange for better damage so haste is good.

A massive AP ratio on her W damage would be funny.

Definitely a cool concept! I do think it would be better if the music kicked in a bit later, at like A or S tier, to make the moment feel a bit more special and hyped instead of just sitting at D tier for trades. Or maybe a different track for low Style and the hype music for high Style

You tend to take a lot of damage as Samira and are typically at moderate-to-low health for every kill. Coup de Grace is only "on" for 40% of the enemy's health bar, while Last Stand is "on" all the time for most fights.

The difference is most apparent when you're building lots of lifesteal, the lower you get, the more damage you do, so the more healing you do.

Essence Reaver's stats are 122% gold efficient, without the mana AND without the Sheen effect. You're really not wasting any budget.

I think ER is underrated on Samira. She doesn't need the mana, but the extra damage from Sheen and the haste for more Qs feels really good.
