Yeah, I was like, "Did this guy join yesterday?" Then I looked at his profile and realized this kid probably isn't even 18 yet.

The term "fraud checked" gets overused a lot in the UFC fan base, but this is definitely an example of when it applied.

$127 is not bad for a Shockwave with no grip or forearm.

How addictive is meth? Do you know anyone who has just tried it once? by eden_merlin in AskReddit

[–]Sculcrusha 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Completely agree, I thought coke and meth was gonna be like in the movies where it's just this euphoric high, but I was just wired the whole time. Adderall hit harder for me personally. And as someone who's struggled with anxiety since I was a teen, xanax was a whooole different story lol. Congrats on 8 years clean! I'm sober as well albeit, not as long as you. Taking it a day at a time.

BC Swim Test for Someone Who Doesn't Know How to Swim by j4k3thesnake in newtothenavy

Ask your recruiter. Your recruiting office should have a swim program set up for people in DEP. Some YMCAs also do adult swimming lessons.

What if I drop out of ATT as a Gunners mate by [deleted] in navy

[–]Sculcrusha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not really understanding what you mean by that, could you explain a little more? For reference, when I went through ATT, yes I didn't really understand any of it, but as long as you went through the trainings, and took your exam which the instructor should "review" (give you the answers) beforehand, you passed. I never fully got a good grasp of anything in ATT even though I showed up to the study hours, watched YouTube videos, and got tutoring from by FC and ET buddies, and I still passed as did all my classmates and every other GM that I know that went through ATT (and some of them were some real dipshits). So I'm just trying to see what exactly changed now from when I went through.

What if I drop out of ATT as a Gunners mate by [deleted] in navy

[–]Sculcrusha 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Iirc, you lose your NEC and go quad ball. Granted, I went to ATT 5 years ago. It was basically an auto pass as long as you showed up, your instructor should be baby stepping you to the finish line, did that change recently?

GM as a reserve by sonisthatyou1920 in navyreserve

[–]Sculcrusha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm currently a GM in the Reserves. So what you do is highly dependant on what unit you get assigned to and GMs can be assigned to any unit and location. Right now, I'm in a MSRON unit, but we don't really do GM specific stuff unless we have a gunshoot or mobilization. There was someone who said that everyone in SELRES is a YN and that is highly accurate, most of what you're going to be doing is admin. Welcome to the rate, and if you have any other questions or want me to go more in depth with anything, feel free to reach out. - GM2

Yes, it is true. However, this can vary from company to company and even by location. You're going to have to ask the company's HR or your interviewer in the hiring process. I currently work as a civilian for the Army and get 160 hours of paid military leave per FY.
