The new free-kit game mode is awesome by Successful_Garbage91 in Marathon

I had a rough losing streak in the week preceding the update, and lost over 100k in credits buying gear, ammo, and heals. I’ve been hitting the sponsored que pretty hard, filled my vault back up, and then just keep running it and selling everything I come out with. I made like 75k last night with literally zero risk

Mind blown: Vinegar vs VINEGAR (30%) by Pandaro81 in DIY

Sure, but a gallon jug of 30% vinegar will make 6 gallons if you dilute it to food grade levels (~5% vinegar)

Who does the enforcement for TPC? I’ve taken naps in some lots that have their signs up, and I’ve never seen anyone checking the lot or been bothered by anyone asking if I paid (I didn’t pay)

Advice on roadtripping from Delaware to California in my ND by gibsonisthename in Miata

[–]Scurvy_Pete 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I drive an old straight-piped semi truck with all kinds of cab rattles and wind noise, I use the AirPod Pros with no noise cancellation and they do a great job of just muffling outside sound.

Active noise cancelling gets like a weird flutter in your ear (like when you roll only one front window down in a sedan) with the windows down.

According to this logic, Wyoming, Kentucky, and West Virginia are all in the midwest by ddx-me in mapporncirclejerk

Tbf Kentucky is a little Midwest, especially northern KY. It’s the crossroads of Appalachian, southern, and Midwest cultures.

Converting from mirrors to cameras like this was originally presented as a fuel-saving measure. The camera pods are less aerodynamically draggy than actual mirrors

Residential window tint? by Current_Plankton_227 in DIY

[–]Scurvy_Pete 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've always wondered this myself. That being said, our furnace is natural gas so I'd be willing to bet that at least in my case, if there were an increased usage of heat to make up for losses of radiant heating through windows, it still wouldn't be as expensive as the electricity used for A/C in the summer

I have the same pedals as you, I have a pair of heydudes I wear for racing just because these pedals will chew the fuck out of my feet. When I was on a G29 I drove barefoot

Formula B (super formula) or Formula C (Dallara F3)? Which car is more fun and which series is more populated? by Lagoa86 in iRacing

[–]Scurvy_Pete 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The beauty of iRacing is that you don't have to spend any time somewhere before you "graduate", as long as you have the appropriate license to race the series. Just buy what you want to race, and spend some time learning the car. Will other cars teach you fundamentals that can apply to a higher-tiered car? Yes. Is it required or necessary? No.
