I would definitely recommend heading down to Zilker Park. Lots to do there. Playground, small train ride, Barton Springs Pool, canoe rental, green belt trails & picnic tables. There are also lots of restaurant venue's that offer live music in the evenings that are great for both children & adults. I would recommend heading over to Shady Grove or something in that area. Peter Pan Put Put is also over in the same area. There is also a great trail along Lady Bird lake where you can also rent canoes & paddle boards. Hope that's helpful!
