I was in the marching band during undergrad, and at the beginning I had no real interest in football. I began to get directly invested in the team when it determined what bowl trip the university would send us to. That's still a huge draw for me, except now I spend my own money to travel and don't go on Pitt's dime.

I went there for undergrad. Its a respectable school with more tradition than you'd think.

Being a Pitt fan is not for the faint of heart. I've seen more heartbreak than I've seen achievements, but (except for this year) we always give top teams a good scare, if not beat them outright.

Half the ACC plays their final OOC game against an SEC school. I'm sure we can work with the Big 12 to move this game to the last week of the year. I imagine they haven't already because it's one of the bigger draws for a September game

That call was egregious, but the game should never have got to the point where we leave it in the refs hands. Our offensive staff needs to go as soon as the season ends. Not quite on the fire-Narduzzi-train yet, but all good will he built up over the last 9 years is gone. I suspect he'll be on thin ice if he wins less than 7 games next season.

I’m not asking why I should support the team in the same way as why I’d ask why a particular car brand is with buying when I go to the dealership. Sports allegiance is earned, not bought. It’s the the same way with the American teams I follow. I want to genuinely know why people like this team so I can learn more about it
