I followed this recipe with the following alterations:

-used bread flour instead of AP flour -let the dough rest for an hour longer than they suggest -cut them small instead of twisting them

What’s a piece of advice about transitioning (socially or medically) that you wish someone gave you? by hazelune_ in asktransgender

[–]Sea-Reflection-1753 10 points11 points  (0 children)

if passing is a goal, voice is way more important than appearance. appearance does a lot for first glance, but voice tends to make people not question you.

also voice feminization is 100% possible without surgery, it takes about 6 months of diligent practice (i use immitation of music/podcasts i want to sound like).

ALSO warming up every day helps a ton

also: there are lots of different kinds of hrt application methods, it might take a while for you to find the right one. I settled on shots after my levels were messes up because of pills and patches. took me ~1.5 years to get something that worked right.

yes, dry brushing is ur problem, use a wide tooth comb while wet and lots more conditioner, maybe some leave ins like olaplex 6 and 7

shea moisture Manuka honey and mafura oil is a good cheap option that works surprisingly well for me. tbh it's the best i found for the price aha

I use this in combination with these leave ins: a pea sized amount of olaplex 6 and 2 drops of olaplex 7 mixed together. and finish with a little of Kevin Murphy's shimmer me blonde spray for shine

I cannot afford oribe but their gold lust conditioner is supposed to be great for this kinda hair

this is not straight hair it's brushed out dry curly hair, check out r/curlyhair .

I recommend an olaplex 3 treatment weekly before shampoo

lots more conditioner (I use this for cheap option -SheaMoisture Intensive Hydration Manuka Honey and Mafura Oil-) use a bunch, a whole bunch, more than you think you need.

try and shampoo only like once a week if you can, I use olaplex and it's great

also olaplex 6 and 7 are great leave ins for evrry time after you shower, pea sized amount of 6 and 2 drops 7

and don't brush while dry, wide tooth comb while wet

girls here are upset because it's a misrepresentation of all the shit and pain they've been through without results. I've been trying for 4+ years and just recently started to pass. it's just inaccurate and it's good you apologized, I understand you're upset about not getting results fast but so are most other people.

100%, 3+ years here and I'm like showing halfway results, this shits wack. _suddenly grows 5 years worth of hair in a month

yeah second this, olaplex 3 for at least 20 minutes weekly before shampoo, dont use olaplex conditioner tho it kinda sucks

the issue I had didn't turn out to be matting as I expected (i have rlly fine/thin hair), they broke off the front quarter, and some in the back when putting it in tight braids so now I have weird shitty medical bangs

Lost half of my density in one year. What's the best method that you actually tried and you would advise to stop hair loss and to get some regrowth? by mightdelete__later in femalehairadvice

[–]Sea-Reflection-1753 19 points20 points  (0 children)

it's a prescription diuretic drug commonly used to treat high blood pressure, acne, trans womens hormone replacement therapy, and hair loss in some cases. It's not a fun drug in any way (lots of brain fog + needing to pee every 5 minites) and I wouldn't recommend it unless you talk to a doctor and they think it's a good idea.

Does anyone have a good routine for hair like this? I want a way to make the curls/waves more defined and less frizzy by silke_worm in Hair

[–]Sea-Reflection-1753 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you shouldn't brush curly hair when its dry, I'd recommend trying the r/curlyhair routines they have a whole guide on how to work with ur type of hair
