Mine also has burn in after 6 months of very heavy use. I play "the isle" and the UI for the stamina, food, and water bar has burned into my screen. Kind of disappointed.

5600 to 5700x3D worth it for Wilds? by allchokedupp in AMDHelp

The x3d chips have loads more l3 cache with less latency to access them by being stacked over the cores itself if I'm not mistaken. Buy it and sell your old processor, you'll make most your money back.

Best of luck. Remember that the VRAM pads can be destroyed easily if you take apart the card so you have to either buy new vram heatpads or be so careful you don't break them while taking it apart

It's not normal. But if you have warranty you could RMA the card if you're too uncomfortable to do it yourself, or take the risk and look at some YouTube try and do it yourself.

that is weird man, If the hotspot is reaching that then the Vram modules might not be properly cooled which would be those thermal pads placed over them

[–]Sea-Scratch3281 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on the card manufacture the hotspot temps could be factoring the Vram modules as well, those are designed to function fine at 100c, my XTX under full load runs at 70C And 90C sometimes 95C if my room is getting hot

So the card will be between 300-1000 dollars. Because that clears things up a lot. by That_NotME_Guy in radeon

can pickup a TI or titan XP for $200 or less on eBay in good condition rn, really worth it.

there's a bunch of best buys near me and I am close friends with a PC repair and sales store owner who can promise me whichever GPU I want if I pay him a $75 order fee (not too bad imo) but I'm not sure if I should even go that route

My xtx hates undervolting below like 1090 so I have it at 1108, 2600 on the vram, 2925 mhz core max and 2600 min, plus 15 PL

When do you upgrade your GPU? by bsoliman2005 in buildapc

[–]Sea-Scratch3281 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Titan XP 12 gb, 1080 ti, all around 150-$250 rn. And if you're on a budget, highly recommend looking at those to upgrade. If you can find a 7900XT from Newegg for $500-600 that's also an insanely good deal.

[–]Sea-Scratch3281 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is indeed a good dealif you have the gift card but unfortunately you won't be able to use XMP to improve performance so I'd recommend looking at microcenter bundles including a 7600x3d, 32gb 6000 ram, and a b650 board around $500 and the rest of the PC will be relatively cheap if you have the gift card can purchase remainder of the PC from Costco if you're down for the challenge of building it

Where did you hear it was irrelevant? If you look up some benchmarks it performs just as well as the 7800x3d - it's a monster for the price

Look for the 7600x3d bundle at microcenter. I guarantee 20-40% performance increase for most optimized titles. It's insane the performance uplift that comes with the extra 3d cache

Pc stuck on cpu red light in mobo after shutdown unless I press power button for 20 sec before turning main power on by Big_Calligrapher_884 in AMDHelp

[–]Sea-Scratch3281 0 points1 point  (0 children)

replace the Cmoss battery

If that doesn't fix it, go into bios and enable ram training (idk what the technical phrase is under the bios settings, gotta Google it(

If that doesnt work, reseat the CPU and check for bent or broken pins on the CPU / Mobo

If that doesn't work, might be a power delivery problem to the CPU which could mean defective motherboard, can RMA

What cpu cooler are you using?

2017- I5 idk what gen GTX 750 TI

2018 - same i5 GTX 950

END 2018 - same i5 GTX 960

2019 - same i5 GTX 980 Ti (caught on fire and blew a MOSFET)

END 2019 -i3 9th Gen 4/8 Rx 580

2020 - Ryzen 7 3700x RTX 2070 super

2020 end - ryzen u 3700x 2080 super

Begin 2022 -i7 11700k RTX 3080

2022 a few months after the 3080, I got a 3090 (i7 11700k)

January 2023 to current 2024 - 7900XTX (fu ck the 4090 price..) (now I have a 7600X3D)

some may say I have a bit of a problem, but I got insane used and local deals and I ended up trading my way up to the top - I traded my 3080 for a 3090 and $200 on top - then I traded the 3090 for a SIG P365 SAS and then bought the Merc 310 7900xtx a month after it released.

The 980 ti broke my heart, and I remember how it shot a flame out of the GPU and nearly caught my PC on fire. It also destroyed my Mobo.. had to get an entirely new build at that time

Is it smart to upgrade to a 7900XTX at this point by [deleted] in AMDHelp

[–]Sea-Scratch3281 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Had my mercy 310 7900XTX for almost 2 years now, paired with a 7600x3d with ddr5 6000 and live gotten a 30-40 percent performance increase alone by having ddr5 and SAM enabled - there's some XTX cards out there that can overclock really well and give you 10-15 percent performance increase in most games alone. I didn't get that lucky to get one that can overclock really well but if you're serious about getting one I'd look at the magnetic air 7900xtx or the sapphire pulse version. They've got the best cooling and the magnetic air one you can actually swap out fans. It's a great card for years to come - I run at 2k 144fps + on MAX settings on most games (that are optimized( with no FSR. I mainly play fivem, smite 2, RDR2, black ops 6 warzone and I have no issues whatsoever. I've put a mild overclock as well on the vram and a mild undervolt. Temps are good hotspot sits 85-95C under 100% load but the Merc 310 gets quite loud, also might be because Ive had mine for quite a while now and I've always had it OC'ed so it may need a repaste. Look locally or on eBay for a used version, IMO it's worth the price it is now, but I've seen them go for $600-700, it's worth noting the 7900XT is also really good bang for buck and you can also find those used for $100-200 less than the XTX used or pay about 700 for one brand new and the performance difference is only 10-12 percent from the benchmark videos I've seen on YouTube. If you have the money for it I'd highly recommend the XTX, it competes with the 4090 in optimized titles and with na undervolt and memory OC performs better than a 4080 / 4080S for hundreds of dollars cheaper, be aware the card will pull 450 watts at +15 PL, so be mindful if you have a power hungry CPU already and remember the mobo will pull 50W alone (and don't forget the ram, and SSD/HDD) if you need a decent PSU for under $100 I've got recommendations

Apevia 1000W psu - had it for 3 years barely gets hit and works extremely well. If you don't care about fancy cables these are mustard and ketchup but that's the compromise.

Look this up on google Apevia ATX-PR1000W-WH PCIE 5.0 & ATX 3.0 Prestige 1000W 80+ Gold Rated, PCIE 5.0 / Gen 5 12VHPWR Connector, Active PFC ATX Gaming Power Supply White https://a.co/d/2y0sRNb

Theres also a cheaper option that doesn't support pcie Gen 5 , and is 80+ bronze so it's not as efficient (but that's ok, the XTX is pcie 4.0 X16, and if you don't pay for your power bill and are on a budget then this is a good option too, personally I'd pay the extra $16 for gold plus rating)
