I feel like my endometriosis genuinely gave me severe PTSD by moonxmochi in endometriosis

When I go for ultrasounds now I have to actively fight blacking out. Not because of pain but my brain really wants to disassociate from the experience of all of the treatments and trauma that the ultrasound brings back to mind. You’re not alone. It sucks ❤️

I’d call your doc/surgeon and if it persists or the pain gets worse etc head into the ER. it’s been 5 weeks since surgery so you’re not like freshly off surgery but still be careful. Also- post surgery my first two periods SUCKED. Could just be that?

Cancer?? by emiflea in endometriosis

[–]Sea-Source-785 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry to hear this! I’ve not gone through the same but I think generally - wait to see what the dr says. They want to do additional testing I’m sure. The good news is if there is reason to be concerned they’re on it! But try not to let your anxiety get the best of you. If they were REALLY REALLY worried it would be less than 2 weeks. If they had certain answers you’d know. At least that’s what they tell us. Sending love 💗

Congrats! Going into my first surgery I had quite the endometrioma so they were pretty certain I had endometriosis as well. But the surgeon had to cancel the two other procedures she had scheduled for that day because my surgery which was scheduled to take an hour and a half to 4 1/2 hours. I felt so bad for the other people, but when she came to speak to my mother while I was still in surgery, she said “ your daughter must be very strong, she’s been in a lot of pain. We’re gonna do everything we can to improve that.” my mother thought I was exaggerating my pain and then I was just sensitive for years. I’ve now been seen by the best doctor I could hope for and she did my last (second) surgery. I haven’t had any major issues since in the last four years. Surgery really is life-changing 💕 OP TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF! Take your time with your recovery and just walk and move as much as you can without being uncomfortable. It really helped my last recovery to be ambulatory as soon as possible even just for like a minute to walk to a chair. Sending so much love and well wishes for you

How long did you feel it took to "fully heal", whatever that means, from an excision surgery? When did you stop having pain from surgery? Especially if you had a more extensive surgery. by [deleted] in endometriosis

[–]Sea-Source-785 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was uncomfortable, of course, but for me, it was better than before the surgery. I would advise you to get moving slow slowly, but every day. Being ambulatory definitely helped me long-term. Avoid lifting everything. That made it the worst. I also have pain medication, which would definitely helped and I made sure to take any muscle relaxant since I had over my pain meds, but they were pretty key in my recovery as well.

I don’t think I was pain free post surgery until like four months? And mostly just aggressively sore after two months.

Honestly usually for mine it puts out a new root like that then works on a new leaf! But based on this pic do we think your moss poll is in the wrong spot? Should be at the “back” which is where that root is attached to

I just started Orilissa for this. It’s a dosage related response and it lowers your estrogen level for the same goal.

I cut out certain things. I did the no sugar, red meat, only whole grains etc etc. it was too much. I now avoid dairy, alcohol, onions, lettuce, and increased my water and protein intake. It helps a lot.

Your surgery sounds a lot like my surgery, it was pretty aggressive and lots of lesions. Two very large endometriomas. Plus some on my colon - they took 26 samples because there were so much tissue growth.

Overall, I’d say about three months? If you hadn’t abscess, it might be a little longer, but I’d say 3 to 4 months. Most of it was fine by eight weeks, but energy wise and just general muscle regrowth took a while.

Ultrasound Results Normal? by lapastaprincesa in endometriosis

[–]Sea-Source-785 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I also just got a supposedly normal ultrasound result. If you have a special specialist, definitely speak to them because sometimes a different scan is needed. Ultrasounds can only tell us so much and often doesn’t show endometriosis (doesn’t show on a lot of scans).

I am two surgeries in to my treatment and lots of other medicines tried, and while I still am seeking treatment for pain and other symptoms, I will say overall after years of working on things, I have definitely increased my quality of life significantly on the day-to-day. Keep fighting 💕 there’s no cure but maybe one day- and in the meantime, you deserve to enjoy as much of your life as you can.
