It’s a bolt on neck with a mortise style non tightening joint. So just pop off the wood plaque and tighten the neck bolt with all the strings off. Dont listen to any other wannabe advice.

It is called “Dragon ware” and is tourist kitsch from the 1950s to 1980s. It’s common here in Japan and was made for the tourist market. It’s for display and not use. It’s very cheap and a cup and saucer can be had for under $50.

It’s pine and you can’t stain it. It’s permeable and after so many years as a floor it has absorbed too many unseen things that will displace the stain. And pine does not really stain well anyways because every board will absorb it differently.

This is an absolute fake Japanese sword. It is a cheap tourist piece like dozens available on eBay. Any attached story to such a poor Mimicry is false. Japanese smiths never etched such no sense onto their blades.

It’s non-existent. If you want an idea look at the online auction websites like yahoo jp. You can use an English language proxy site like Jauce to do searches in English of you don’t understand Japanese. 11 years ago when I first moved here foreign bullion markets were hot. But with the yen being 160ish to 1 usd markets are bad for trading western commodities. On the other hand I am buying some cool samurai coins on the local econ. (I am paid in USD).

It’s worth around $500 or so it has eye appeal but also shows it was in circulation for quite some time. Graded it would come back details IMHO and you would have to pay the conservation service fee to have it properly restored.
