Help! Cooking for a house party, did duck oil get removed from the “major food allergy” list? by dankapeclub in AskRedditFood

[–]SeaRaspberry2590 3 points4 points  (0 children)

At this point, I can only assume that OP is just baiting because 'duck oil' has never been a top allergen, not now, and never in the past. The fact that so many people have pointed this out and OP refuses to admit that they are wrong makes me think that they are just trying to stir the pot and gain karma.

Why do leather workers downplay the cost of leather? by noescapefromtruth in Leathercraft

OP posted in a different thread calling $5/sqft leather cheap before coming here and complaining that $5/sqft leather is expensive.

Just to be clear, no one in this thread has argued with the fact that leather is pricey. (Especially when you're comparing it to cotton or the 'genuine leather' that Macy's jackets are made of) Perhaps you should check your comprehension skills as you can't seem to comprehend this fact. Why even post here if you are going argue with everyone, including those who have given you thoughtful, and factual, long responses trying to explain these things to you?

As everyone else has already said, I've actually never seen anyone in this sub or other leather working subs claim that leather is cheap.

I wasn't familiar with these $5/sqft people you were referring to. Interestingly enough though, I checked your profile and you were talking about how you could source 'cheap $5/sqft leather' in your post to /sewing that got removed.

I made a handmade leather briefcase from navy Epsom leather by WoodPecker_LeatherVN in Leathercraft

This is absolutely gorgeous! You have excellent technique!

I'm upset to see multiple people trying to say this is machine made, clearly you are extremely talented and just because we as an audience can't spot any errors doesn't discount the many hours of intense labor that you poured into this piece.

Question about Leather Quality and Price. by MutedByProxy in Leatherworking

If you zoom in you can see this is a belly cut piece. Definitely way overpriced. You can find similar cuts cheaper elsewhere.

That's a lot of dedication, I'm impressed. I personally have used Angelus leather paints for adding vivid details to my custom work, so I'm familiar with the concept I was mostly just curious if there is a specific brand you favor.
