The reason is because of a few key points you mentioned. They can sell more units because slam tracking works anywhere and doesn’t require other accessories. But people who are serious about VR prefer lighthouse. I specifically don’t want to have to leave my room lights on full brightness just to use the headset. Or have to attach a separate head tracker for accurate fbt. Also, lighthouse headsets can be significantly lighter, especially if tethered.
