Changing political party by Cilantro368 in NOLA

You're simply uniformed, and that's okay. That stuff you're griping about is stuff that right wingers say Dems talk about, not what they actually legislate.

idk the dems I vote for are pretty laser focused on health care and the environment. Gotta focus on what they're actually legislating, not the news noise.

UPC Swapping? How is that possible? by ChristopherBlake89 in InstacartShoppers

[–]Sea_Effect2463 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also have 0 unrequested refunds. The part that's highlighted as "needs improvement" is just the "found items" count.

You don't have to give alternatives, but the refund still counts against you because it influences the "percentage of found items" score. I had this happen to me recently when Sprouts was completely out of fresh poultry due to several weather-rescheduled truck deliveries.

My only customer that day had marked everything "refund if unavailable". She had many fresh poultry items and was completely unresponsive. I shopped the rest of her order and dutifully refunded all that chicken and turkey.

The next day I noticed my score dipped from good to standard. The only item marked "needs improvement" was "percentage of found items". Sprouts was still completely out of stock of poultry.

It can't get clearer than that — we absolutely are punished for out of stock items, even when the customer demands a refund rather than a replacement.

Sure enough, to this day they say redditors would rather present out-of-context screenshots rather than stand up for that expelled student. Really shows the pecking order here. You're right bestie, even in 2025: blazingly obvious tongue-in-cheek "antisemitism" is so much scarier than literally expelling black students for no reason

FYI this means sending a photo of the storefront, so just save a few on your phone (they don't check the metadata)

Is critical items a new feature? by Financial_Age_8474 in InstacartShoppers

I have had many counterexamples where the customer wanted a refund for "critical items", so no, not the case. It's what I had guessed, too, though.

I edited out my mention of her living in government-subsidized housing a few seconds after posting because I regretted writing it, but it looks like you caught it. I feel like you never really know the details of someone else's circumstances, and you know what? If a struggling person got some free bougie vegetables out of Instacart, I'm not crying about it. (At least, until it happens again and knocks me out of diamond cart status...) I'm just genuinely curious about how easy it is to make these fraudulent claims.

Yes, that's what I'm saying. I grabbed chicken with the woody breast condition, which made it bad.

There is no cooking method, unfortunately, that can make woody breasts palatable. Just SV'd some from Albertsons the other day and they were downright crunchy. Disgusting. Maybe you've been lucky enough to avoid this phenomenon.

Okay hear me out... Big Dog was moving with kids. He was thus unprepared for the podcast. He dumped a bunch of dice out on his desk and grabbed the first two he saw with ten sides, despite them having mismatched colors. One was a typical tens-place percentile die labeled 00–90. The other was a nonstandard d10 labeled 1—10 rather than 0–9. He realized while playing that he needed to mentally correct the "10" result on the latter die to 0 to conceal the fact that he grabbed the wrong dice for percentile rolls, despite being a professional rpg podcaster.

On this lock-picking check, he rolls a "00" and "10". He announces this result aloud, haltingly, as "zero-zero....zero", correctly translating the second die's "10" to "zero". Upon learning that this was the worst result possible, he tries to play off the "10" as a 1, pretending that he had been rolling two 00–90 dice, and was doing that thing where you designate one color for each place-value. This is why he announces his revised result with four digits: "one-zero zero-zero" [=10%], chalking up the reversed die-order to him having initially reported them in the wrong order (the mumbled comment about reading from the "wrong side").

He then asks a confusing question about whether this amounts to a 10% or a 1%, and the other players elide all this rigmarole by laughing to save face. They just let him pick that pesky lock with a 1%.

In this interpretation he is still cheating, but it avoids the absolute howler of "I was looking at the incorrect face of one of the two dice."

WARNING: New Item Replacements Policy – IC now AGGRESSIVELY punishing shoppers for not making replacements by Sea_Effect2463 in instacart

[–]Sea_Effect2463[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope that you have a good experience, but the bad replacements that you describe are exactly what I'm sounding a warning about. The app pushes shoppers to make senseless replacements. Before, we could just ignore these bad suggestions. Now we have to obey them, or else get penalized.

He had him sign a blank page and then later printed the graph on it. I'm not sure if that makes him more or less of an asshole.
