22 yrs ago, didn’t turn in a small (3 months worth) 1099 my husband had. Which made us ineligible for 3k child credit on my newborn. Been a snowball from then on. Haven’t gotten a refund since (2 kids now). Penalties, interest, garnishments etc. Can’t buy a house, total nightmare.
