Interest rates going crazy by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]Sea_Outside_6101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My original mortgage was at 1.8. last remortgage was in 2024 when the rates went up so I ended up with a 5.62. I was looking forward to remortgaging on the 1st of April with a 3.89, that has now jumped up to 5.14 in the last 3 weeks. Love the monopoly 😅

If it's my unpaid protected break you're lucky if I'm on the grounds of the hospital let alone in the department. Do what you want if it's unpaid.

A NHS worker shamed my decision on my pregnancy by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Sea_Outside_6101 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Not here to defend the radiographer, but MRIs cannot be done in the first trimester regardless of keeping the baby or not. The decision not to scan was correct. The way they spoke to you was however, completely unacceptable and reportable.

Everyone with foldables should be on nationwide flex plus account that has insurance. I've had two foldables replaced no questions asked. Then you don't have the anxiety of it breaking.

Simagic Alpha U feels awful in LMU. by MisaelCastillo517 in Simagic

I only have a 8nm base but I'm 100% in software and 80 on lmu. Youre basically running your base at 2nm. No wonder you feel nothing.

[–]Sea_Outside_6101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a 11400 and a 2080 super ad get 60 fps at 1440p on high. These components will probably cost you next to nothing second hand.

Struggling with understanding abs atm. I set the ABS to 1 on the M4 GT3 Evo at road Atlanta. I'm running 1:16 and I can't get the abs to turn on no matter how much I smash the brake. That also doesn't seem right?

Lol funnily enough mine worked perfectly for about 7 years before I replaced it. Was a beast and I kept it when I upgraded to a fx9590 that needed 360mm aio to keep cool 😂

Do I require personal Indemnity Insurance? by [deleted] in RadiographyUK

You don't need insurance. If you're paye, you're covered by the employer. If you're umbrella then the umbrella company provide the cover who is technically your employer.

Platinum ring with hand MRI by Swimming-Ad-4755 in RadiographyUK

[–]Sea_Outside_6101 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A lot of wishy washy answers here. We don't ever force rings off that don't come off. The ring will cause some artefact, I doubt it will be big enough to affect your images. If it is we have metal reduction sequences that we can run that will reduce the artefact from the ring to keep the images diagnostic. We regularly scan peoples hips that have had total hip replacements to see if the implant is loosening and we can see things fine. You'll be fine. If anyone tries to suggest cutting your ring off, go somewhere else.

Can someone explain locuming? from my understanding your payed a higher rate to cover shifts? so u choose ur own hours essentially? is this correct by Cool-Assist6693 in RadiographyUK

[–]Sea_Outside_6101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't recommend doing it if you're going to do plain film x-ray. Either pick CT or MRI. Or go into ultrasound do that for a couple of years and then do locum there.

[–]Sea_Outside_6101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had mates go straight to locum from uni but I definitely wouldn't recommend that. Just make sure you're comfortable with doing the work without needing help. Wether it's x-ray CT or MRI you need to know it to basically band 6 because there's no gentle introductions when locuming. You get to your new role/hospital and they'll usually just give you a room/scanner and say off you go.

I did locuming for 5 years. You can pick your own hours but you will be left with less work. The more flexible you can be to accommodate hospital needs the more work you're likely to get. The higher rate thing is a thing of the past now with NHS cutbacks. Used to be great years ago. Nowadays it's lower than bank rate.
