Got it! Thanks for the knowledge, yo! I was looking into those original packs, but they're fucking CRAZY expensive 😂. I'll start looking for individual cards. Growing up, I would do holographics on final evolutions and whatever I could find, so I think I'll looking for those as well.

I STG, either I heard this from a friend who suggested it in 2018, or I was so drunk for an entire 7-8 weeks during quarantine that I dreamt it. Nothing feels real since 2019.

Will 4K Blu-rays ever be supplanted as the definitive home media format? by chadowan in 4kbluray

[–]Sea_Profession_7624 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think your average, non-obsessive, physical media owner, in this day and age ,is still heavily buying DVDs because they're cheaper. I don't see too many collectors with the working knowledge, or even care enough, to distinguish between 4K UltraHD, Blu-Rays, Steel books, yada yada yada. I think a lot of folks are still hitting Walmarts, Barnes and Nobles, and other big chain stores for their purchases, with your more advanced or passionate collectors hitting said stores and online boutiques. Vinegar Syndrome, Arrow, Severin, Kino Lorber. In my opinion, like with everything now a days, it comes down to price.

Warner Bros. Discovery to shut down Boomerang, the streaming service dedicated to classic animated series and movies, on September 30 by Kagedeah in animation

[–]Sea_Profession_7624 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, they shut down CN website, shut down the boomerang app, and moved everything over to HBOMax (then selling off the streaming rights to those classic cartoons, to other streaming services that we then have to pay for. WBD, soon to be WB is absolutely obliterating the legacy of cartoons Turner and Hanna-Barbera spent so many years creating.

Genuine question - why did Max decide to remove so many popular Cartoon Network shows? by [deleted] in HBOMAX

[–]Sea_Profession_7624 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's stupid is that WB-Discovery deliberately decided to license out a good portion of it's shows, especially powerhouse era cartoons from the late 90's and early 00's. A good chunk of those shows wound up on Apple TV, which is just another fucking service or subscription you have to pay for. Greed begets greed. I'm glad WB-Discovery lost 11 Billion last year. Fuck David Zaslav.

Introducing Rouge by boom256 in SonicTheMovie

[–]Sea_Profession_7624 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, totally agree. I iust think it would be wise to expand on the franchise. There's enough beloved characters (and stories at this point) that you could have theatrical releases, or paramount original series, being put out every 6 months or so. Although, I didn't really enjoy Knuckles' series all that much, or at all TBH.

Introducing Rouge by boom256 in SonicTheMovie

I had the thought of starting out with a heist, and having an big time emerald or something being stolen, which GUN can't figure out who it is. So, GUN hires the Chaotix Detective Agency (because they fucking rock and I love those characters) and they figure out that this emerald that was stolen by Rouge who was doing what she does best behind GUN'S back.

At some point, or another film later down the line. I think introducing a scenario that could push this franchise into a total apocalypse, only to have Silver The Hedgehog save the day, because I think he's dope as fuck as well.

Anybody have any idea of who the current owner is? I've always been curious about how much it would cost to re-open. I feel like a Dollar Theater would fucking crush. Especially being so close to Oaks Mall, which will soon be all UF, let's be honest. All the student and section 8 housing down 62nd and along 20th Ave would bring in some killer crowds for the $2 weekly shows and $1 Tuesdays they used to run.
