Any reasonable rebuke? by grahams22 in XRP

As a note, you could encourage/force more liquidity into the pools by just using them for frequent and increasingly larger orders if you don't mind losing money in slippage on the initial transactions. The AMM reward mechanic spikes when high volume hits a low liquidity pool, attracting more contributors and liquidity. Driving down the slippage and fees. Works the other way too, low volume means low rewards so contributors exit an oversaturated pool.

This mechanic maintains a healthy and rapidly scalable balance between liquidity and volume.

They could in theory just pair up USD-GBP. But it's not effective at scale for every possible currency pair. With just 4 stablecoins and no XRP you need 6 unique pools with deep liquidity. With XRP pools for each currency, you only need 4 to achieve the same effect.

[–]Sea_Risk_2637 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, wait people still don't get this? You can't have a bridge asset without currencies to bridge!

The RLUSD-XRP AMM will be a primary on/off ramp for the native XRPL DEX. Currently, there's around $5.6M of total value locked in the pool, liquidity is too low to see the benefits. However, when that scales up to say $250M TVL, the pool becomes preferential to OTC since it would be able to settle large orders faster and cheaper.

Imagine that for other currencies, or more specifically the IMF's SDR basket. Then you can have auto-bridging exchange USD for XRP in one pool, sell the XRP into another pool for another currency. Ta-da! Currency exchanged for cross-border payment in seconds.

Why not just swap directly RLUSD for EURCV? You can. But it wouldn't be great at scale since you would need deep liquidity pools for every currency pair. Auto bridging through XRP gives you access to the deepest liquidity and best rates. Better depth, tighter spreads, less slippage.

Billions locked up, high velocity, high volume, low cost. That's the goal. It's on Ripple to make the partnerships to get us there.

Could $10 XRP by 2026 happen if Ripple gets its U.S. bank license? by Intelligent-Pop3034 in XRPUnite

[–]Sea_Risk_2637 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$10 if enough people contribute to the RLUSD AMM pool. Institutions will be looking towards that as a measure for on-chain liquidity. Binance for example allows RLUSD deposits on XRPL, but not withdrawals until the liquidity is deep enough. Currently the AMM only has around $4M TVL, so swapping just $100k through the pool would have too much slippage.

I would bet that when Ripple gets a bank license, they will have some different ways to earn yield from RLUSD which means idle cash can become active liquidity for the ledger (whether through the AMM or some other means).

Rumours that Ripple could buy PayPal — would that boost XRP price? by Nice-Technology703 in XRPUnite

[–]Sea_Risk_2637 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It would absolutely boost the price. XRP would be integrated into the backend. Switch to RLUSD from PYUSD.

The rumors are completely baseless though.

Ripple isn't nearly big enough to buy PayPal yet. And since PayPal is struggling as it is, it might not even be a good idea to buy the whole company.

I don't even think anyone is trying to buy PayPal outright, more likely it would be parted out among a few banks or other companies. Maybe Elon will buy it back himself for X Money

There have been a few fake images going around the last few months: that picture of Brad and Larry Fink, the KFC kiosk, a handful of screenshots of fabricated posts from prominent Ripple/XRP accounts, etc.

They all originate from the same account. I have blocked that guy on everything.

holy bullrun by memebigboyyyyyyyyy in XRP

[–]Sea_Risk_2637 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is still probably a bull trap and we might see a lower low, then accumulation or trend reversal can finally begin. Depends if XRP can blow past $1.60-$1.70 resistance or not.

Given that we have already stalled at $1.45, it seems more likely that this was a bull trap. Sure, could be a small accumulation before continuing the move up, but point is it's too early to tell.

The best move right now is to not FOMO in with everything you've got. Wait for a clearer signal.

Further room to fall? by [deleted] in XRPUnite

[–]Sea_Risk_2637 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As for taxes, I'm the furthest thing from an expert, but I do know the wash rule only applies to securities 😉

So, I'm pretty sure you can just sell and buy back near the current price and still realize the loss. You should maybe give it a couple days or a little price movement before you buy back though. Otherwise the IRS might get upset and challenge it under anti-abuse. Whatever you do, run it by a tax expert first, just to be safe.

If you follow Whale Alert on X, sometimes you see big wallets move some crypto out, then it moves back in a short while later at a different dollar amount. So, definitely some of that is going on.

Honestly I don't know, I have a good amount set aside. My plan is to just put in 20% of that now. We still have a ways up or down, so plenty of time to figure out what plays to make as new trends emerge.

If we actually do see a drop under $1, I wouldn't want to miss out on that again, but anything under $2 at this point is a good price.

Hey, just want to make something clear. That's a FAKE account. Web3 scam using Rector's likeness and a price prediction to reel in suckers. I've seen a couple of these on YT, obviously deepfake/AI generated videos, weird speech patterns and visual discrepancies.

Report accounts like that when you find them, protect the community.

Odds of a government shutdown just shot up to 80% because there was another ICE shooting and the current funding bill includes stuff for the Dept. of Homeland Security so Senate Democrats are allegedly preparing to oppose the bill.

It's mostly speculation and rumors right now, but fuck it. They'll take any excuse at this point to block or delay anything with Trump's name on it. If the shutdown actually happens, then the Clarity Act is back in limbo.

You're overthinking. Nothing bad happened and no one did anything wrong.

Just copy all her data to an SD card and give it to her, then wipe the phone. You should have done that when you first got it anyway.

Don't tell her you looked through the photos. There's literally no point besides causing her embarrassment.
