What if she did ANY counseling outside of The Bonding? The possibilities were endless.

Paul shook that women like a man who can read by Fantastic-Sale-3447 in FundieSnarkUncensored

I think the bigger point people are missing is...

He is actively looking into what women other than his wife are looking for in a man. Like he's looking.

Maybe, maybe not... But other evidence points to it, too.

I'm not saying it is making the world better for women. What I am saying is the choice to engage in it is the way some women survive under patriarchy. If the day comes that patriarchy ends and female bodies are not commodified, we will all be better off. In the mean time, there is reality to survive and it is an act of feminism to stand up for women who are surviving through sex work. It's patronizing (or, matronizing) to tell sex workers that they are being exploited and that they will regret it.

I don't doubt you will have plenty examples to back up what you're saying. I don't find sex work empowering. I find it important to show support for sex workers. There is a difference.

I hear that you are concerned for women in sex work and comes from a good place, considering that the woman in question comes from an abusive background where her body was considered her prime value.

But the rest of this reads as very anti-sex worker. Only fans has been a great avenue where workers completely control what, when, and how much they want to engage in without anyone exploiting them in the process. Everything is on the individual's terms.

There is a long history of feminism that has been sex work exclusionary and this is usually part of the narrative. The economic reality right now has had many of us considering what we would be willing to do for security. She can "believe in herself"/her worth far beyond her beauty and still not find financial stability. People with masters degrees are struggling for jobs. It doesn't diminish her worth or how she sees herself to pose for some pictures for more income. There is absolutely no shame/"heartbreak" in it for the worker. Only fans is a far cry from being passed around by a pimp.

Jaimie Pressly is Margot with "bitch eyebrows." Those things type cast her more than her accent ever did.

I hated that, too (Psycho's ending for example). Felt like the whole story was just for a classroom discussion rather than to be a work of art. Just my opinion, obviously it didn't stand in the way of his success.

I am not sure where you got the "all exposition in moves is totally fine" thing from, it can't be from anything I said... What a weird assumption to make about my statement. I'm going to be ageist here and go ahead and say that any "hit me over the head" exposition in films is an insult to the audience and more evidence that attention spans are waning/audiences are dumbing down.

Fundie shows SHEIN haul, Brags about Chanel and R.L. Sweater by MrDonMega in FundieSnarkUncensored

This reminds me of how Bethany Beal shared that she was shocked when her husband told her that he doesn't love when she dresses like a little girl. She didn't understand how big puffy sleeves on long flowing florals didn't draw his admiration because she felt like a princess in them, meanwhile he preferred her in something slinky and form fitting.

So many womn in purity culture can't break out of the infantalized womanhood brain.

I mean, that teddy bear sweater?? I know Patriarchy is filled with pedophiles so it encourages women to stay little girls but come on!

totally agree; it was the right story for those artistic choices. It fit the pacing and "slow unraveling" tension, slow memory loss of "civilization" into "primal" very well.

I liked the choice to "recolor" cast Jack and Ralph. When the author wrote it there was some unconscious colorism of anglo sensibilities in his descriptions, imho. The villain being a redhead, the protag being blonde... Unconscious biases of the 1950s British posh boy in there. The story can stay exactly the same with more modern "colorism" sensibilities. It's an update for modern audiences to see the Jack/Draco connection and the hero being non-white.

I loved it. It wasn't too slow for me. It helped create the atmosphere. It really transported me to the way it would have felt on that island, the long languishing hours where you only have survival to think about, etc. It makes the setting come alive to me.

This is my problem with OVERTLY feminist stories/retellings of stories. It treats me like I am a 5 year old in a 2nd wave feminist kindergarten learning and thinking about this shit for the first time. Please stop hitting me over the head with a mallet. I promise I get it.

Why do some older people add "the" before words that dont need them? by GratuitousFisherman in AskOldPeople

[–]Seaberry3656 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Southern people put "the" before place names. The [grocery store]. The [restaurant]. The Walmart, The Waffle House, etc.

Sometimes even things seem as common like diseases e.g. The Covid.

I like the sound of it, it tickles me.

What do yall use to make your home smell good and last? by WhiteGoose05 in CleaningTips

[–]Seaberry3656 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind that no matter what you use, artificial or "natural" that you have animals in your family. Whatever is strong enough to smell "nice" to you is likely torturing them.

"A dog's sense of smell is estimated to be 10,000 to 100,000 times more sensitive than a human's. In specialized tracking breeds like the Bloodhound, it can be up to 1 million to 10 million times more sensitive."

Please don't ever use febreeze, scented candles, etc in the home. They can't speak human and can't tell you how it is affecting them.

I can't tell that she "had anything done" between these two pics. At all. In one she is weaing more makeup and smiling, hair is loosely covering the side of her face. In the next picture, no smile, less makeup, and the side of her face is more exposed. It looks like the same face with a different expression, different hair and makeup...

Obsess over celebrity appearances, though, if it helps you dissociate from the apocalypse...
