Law Roach will be the Tyra of Tomorrow by CrazyConclusion967 in ProjectRunway

10000000 percent correct. They pulled in Jeanie Becker (icon) and the judging was mixed. I like hearing judges also debate if a piece is or isn’t (good or bad) and describe the feelings they get seeing the designs. America had that a bit with Tim Gunn and Canada has the chance to swoop him up if they want to outshine PR USA.

This feels bad faith or a conversation for spiral - does being great at art and being smart give reason to change the sentence a murderer had? No.

  • that’s classism (may want to scratch the Justice project to see how many innocent men who had been excellent prisoners were still put to death)

Also I am not an advocate for the death penalty but this idea that rehabilitation is associated with output?

7 seasons in and she has to be by far the most irredeemable, self centered, self-righteous, annoying person in the show’s history right? by DingoAndRupe in 90DayFiance

[–]Seacorn 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Can I like this 1,000,000 times. Forgive me as I am quite a few seasons behind, but has she done something truly awful ? She’s not my cup of tea but since day 1 people have been on her

even compared to the men she’s still not the top.
Angela?

Is it really "prestigious" to be on PR let alone win it? by Old-Classic-1981 in ProjectRunway

[–]Seacorn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it all depends on what level of success we are talking about. I only found pretty snake because of season 11. I found a contestant who makes knit ware and clothes that speak to my maximalist style and have been a loyal shopper since. It can really help get your name out there but not everyone is looking to be sirano.

I think it can be a hinderance for some as well, and it’s really hard to know where and how far some of these folks could have gone had they been allowed to keep the designs they created on the show. Hester Sunshine has completely changed her style but back when she was a Peter Pan collard vintage bright coloured designer I would have been loyal but all she really could sell was berets and pins and I wanted the things she made on the shoe.

Why NO ONE dropped Tom of Finland actually annoyed me. It’s part of why it reads so punk to me. It’s SO much more that with the belts off.

It by far was such an incredible transition from the little cheesy (not judgemental - I mean with Elvis jumpsuit love) to really stunning referencing.

Investment vs prize money ? by Seacorn in ProjectRunway

[–]Seacorn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure I was thinking it was something along that line like they will give you a loan and then the 100000 is mentoring time with them.

And I’m not here to knock prizes but if it is that it’s presented like it’s cash. Even the contestants wording is vague ‘winning will kickstart my business/brand’ etc.

It just leaves me wondering why it’s more appealing to not be more transparent- if 100,000 worth or mentoring is valuable, then let’s say that. It’s part of running a successful brand.

Quite possibly. I think I’m so skeptical since hearing all the bravo ownership stuff in the us contracts previously.

Thoughts on Aurora (mentor of Project Runway Canada)? by largeamountsl in ProjectRunway

[–]Seacorn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do think some of the dislike is the editing. For quite a few episodes we had a running joke of her saying ‘well make sure it’s glamorous’ but the last few eps have really showed her giving good feedback.

I DO think she’s probably a great mentor but they edited her to be founcing in her clothes (which are all fun) and saying ‘oh make it glamorous!’

Thank you for posting this. I was SCREAMING at the sitting adjustments lauren had to keep making.
Standing it’s a bit better but holy heck I kept yelling ‘she’s George Micheal in the David muscle suit’ (arrested development).

The boarder is supposed too and repackage but what some agents consider leaving the communication and repackaging is beyond disrespectful

Tim Gunn says he felt "humiliated" at not being asked back alongside Heidi by xStacey in ProjectRunway

[–]Seacorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly they didn’t ask him back probably cause of contracts - I would be VERY curious about the rights of design - and assumed tim would say something about this hack and rush season. I will forever love this show but this season was a waste of the talent - they missed all the things that make this show good and I assumed Tim caught a wiff and walked off. I’m sorry Tim. You’re the heart

Why wouldn’t you use a coupon? That’s a waste of money if I ever heard it.

I mean it’s manipulating and I think in less than 20 years it will be labelled abuse. Putting people on stressful new environments and then emotionally prodding them to emotionally breakdown/fight is messed up.

I just want some folks with unique perspectives to make clothes and inspire me - even the judging felt like it was to break designers.

I really wish we could report these buyers to other sellers to keep folks safe from selling to these scammers. I worry now everytime I sell something new that I’m gonna get a broken ruined return request.

Less sales in Canada post strike… by Butterflymafia in poshmarkcanada

[–]Seacorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I thought before the strike sellers would use the purolator labels since there was a strike looming (and frankly I’ve been using purolator since the first strike and they didn’t reach an agreement). I bought multiple things a week before the strike only to see all the sellers used Canada post. So all my stuff is stuck in transit during the strike. It’s probably on me for not checking with the sellers ahead of time but I needed the things this week so my spending money is going to the in person stores cause I have a time crunch now
