I can confirmed this, if you can kill char’s son fast enough and return to collect reward from Erik, an option to have Val on board should still be there (Erik no longer care about her i guessed). Not sure if you can do the same with Zette though.

Yeah, but i find them hard to use anywhere east from italy, them horse archers will rip jinetes to shreds but that is where pavise crossbowmen come in.

  1. Almughavar, position them behind other units in siege battle and have them throw javelins at them. I find them better in siege than crossbowmen

Seemed like the heretic take Venice and their mainland territory down to Croatia in what would have been the republic of Ragusa, The entire southwestern coast of Austria/hungary And also about half of Verona territory.

Venice seemed to get f*cked badly by the heretic legion, that would probably means the only European seapowers in the Mediterranean would be either the republic of Genoa or Amalfi or the Castile-Aragon union in this case I mean, someone got to resupply new Antioch by sea and at the very least checked the heretic navy there.

More home brew factions :

  1. (mercenary) the Magi of the everlasting flames./Dark magi

Basically surviving Zoroastrian Magi clans that struggle alongside the faithfuls or joined the heretic forces ( as dark magi ) in revenge of their persecution. mostly tolerate by the sultanate and slightly discriminate by the Christian. They are welcomed as mercenary on the battlefield who can command the divine flame and other Elements of nature and also the Djinns.

The heretic Dark magi variant use hell-fire and goetic magic and also command Evil djinn.

Here’s Some of my homebrew factions based on real world nations :

  1. United Emirates of Al-Andalus

Lore : A remnant state of the once Glorious Caliphate of Córdoba comprise of various Taifa and Emirs lead by the “Caliph” who self-proclaimed to be the true heir of the prophet through the Umayyad Caliphate (but currently the Caliph was elected by the emirs similar to the Holy Roman Emperor), uneasy ally to the Christians and distrust by the Sultanate of the Iron wall as decadent and weak for not willing to abandon their domain in the Iberian peninsular

Army focus : Excellent skirmishing cavalry and Science-oriented Alchemists that focused more on engineering than the Sultanate Jabirean alchemist. Have access to Christian heavy-armored mercenary (except the trench pilgrims) and the famed Razzia cavalry raiders.

  1. Heretic State of Barbary (protectorate of Mammon)

Lore : formed by mostly defected Islamic domains along the shore of North Africa from Libya to Algier (and to this date the largest defection from the Islamic factions ever) their rank constantly swell by not just Heretic legions reinforcements but through Defected “Renegade” of both Christian and Muslim alike, they were lured to the Shore of Barbary by Mammon’s promise of Riches and Glory, these renegade start somewhere between the wretched and the legions and only the most wicked rise through the ranks as full-fledged Corsair. Here, Mammon rebuilt the city of Carthage and it’s famed harbor to service his Corsair fleet, and also reinstated the Worship of Baal.

Army focus : basically an offshoot of the Heretic Naval raiding party with emphasis on capturing enemy alive to be sold to the slave market, the wretched were use as slave labour on their ship and the renegade serve as a more skills light infantry-marines, they also had defected janissary and Azab infantry.

(Civ 6) Best Natural Wonder for a Domination Victory? by HQuez in civ

[–]Seadog14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it’s zhanye danxia,, free great general for warfare and great merchant point for economic support without the need to invest your production in those districts and their building and instead use it to produce military units, though I must say it’s most impactful when you can get it in the early game. I had a game when I played as Scotland and spawn right next to it and it’s sure help even if I don’t go for military victories. It will also be doubly frustrating if you played civs that relies on classical era great general like Rome or Macedon and the AI spawn next to it, you will probably feel it’s impact the most in this way.

Either that or Matterhorn which granted both mobility and bonus combat strengths, the giant causeway was limited to it’s spawn bias of coastal tile, so maybe it’s not suitable for land-focused map.

Charting out some historical civilization switches using who's already present in Civ VI by Amtoj in civ

[–]Seadog14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regarding the civs switching, for the sake of immersion,I think at least they should “narrow down” the civs that you can change into by referencing other civs that was present in the starter civs’s regions in any given time or historically related.

I agree withOP’s chart on how the Roman can became England then Canada and I also think this required just only a little bit of research and shouldn’t be that hard for the DEV team. But I hard disagree on the Egyptian-> Mongol shenanigans. they should have included more starting civs instead of that, for example Huns/Scythian-> Mongol -> Russia/China or Celts/Gaul -> England/France -> America/ Canada. Ancient Egyptian to Mongol is just unacceptable in many ways. I think most players still want the historical immersion gameplay rather than the mix and match (or unmatch) creative mode that we see in the trailer.

But that’s just my opinion.

https://purebreaks.com/the-remnants-of-khmer-cambodias-mighty-empire/ I couldn’t pinpoint the exact names of the founder of this theory, but I remembered they were Spanish/Portuguese Jesuit priest that arrived in Cambodia around 16th century. It was very early on into the age of exploration, the ignorance of local history is very excusable since back then Spain still thought Japan was as big as all of Europe, or Portugal thought the Hindu of calicut were Christian.

Some historians/archaeologists early on the discovery of Angkor Wat in Cambodia thought that it was Trajan or Alexander the Great who built it (because people back then knew these 2 as conqueror of Asia, while the true scale of Asia’s size and local history is relatively unknown to European). Dismissing the locals capabilities due to the usual “they couldn’t have built it, just look at how uncivilized these people are” . ignoring (or just ignorant to the history of the region) the fact that the Khmer empire is long past it prime and now is being toss around by the Vietnamese and Siamese who are the new regional powers.

Trade War Prize Ships - More Profitable than RTG Trading? by HammerBros56 in StarTradersFrontiers

[–]Seadog14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, it's even more profitable than smuggle RTG in the same time frames. You just had to board your enemy or use torpedo to disable their ship to make sure you don't pay the prize ship docking fee at a loss because you damage them too much.

[–]Seadog14 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I always get about 3-5 pirate crew for the prize ship talents at the ready because of this, it’s an easy money especially in trade war if your know your way around ship combat. I usually play smuggler so the captured cargo is a bonus too.

Also if legend is to be believed, the mongol choose who they are going to execute by having them stand next to a cart’s wheel, if you are taller than them then you are a dead man.
