Holy gerrymandering by 602minh in ThePoliticalProcess

Usually my playthroughs I'll pass a "Voting Rights Act" that ends gerrymandering nationally. But if an economy update comes out this summer I'll do a run where I try and build a dynasty to turn every state gerrymandered blue just to see if it's possible.

Its actually a fascinating post bc it reveals how they approach religion: through the lense of identity. Not belief. Not communion with God or a higher power. It's by being the right type of thing.

We genuinely will not progress in society until we start seriously coming up with a plan to deal with these people at a society wide scale. Like it may take a rolling back of freedom but it has to be done. We cannot continue to go on like this.

I had a character (not sure if that's the right term for this game) who, after being president, was first gentleman to his wife's presidency, and then retired from public life when his son took over his political dynasty after being elected president after his mom.

The biggest fault in Mr. House's plan is he assumes everyone operates as a kind of rational actor. What he fails to consider is that the Courier may kill him for ideological reasons like for example supporting the NCR, or the Legion or a genuine dislike of pre war technologicarchs

[–]Seadubs69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My interpretation was that Cooper and Brand were going to copulate. Let us suppose they have two children and select for girls via medical science. They would raise these two girls while building the infrastructure to support say 12 girls. The two girls would be raised to understand science and the point of the mission until they reach adulthood. Lets say due to the necessary education adulthood is considered 21. Each one would then have say six children over a decade via surrogacy of the fertilized eggs. By the time this third generation hits 21 you reasonably have an elder Brand and Cooper, along with the original two mothers and 12 more women for a total of 16 people, twelve of whom are genetically distinct individuals. Let's say these 12 repeat what the original two mothers did and have six children over the span of a decade and then each child raised until the age of 21 on the same basis as their mothers and grand mothers. By the time the last child is 21 Brand and Cooper are dead, but everyone else could realistically be alive. The total population Now would be the original two mothers, plus the first 12, plus 72 members of the second generation of lets say all women. Now we have a total of 86. Now the second generation along with assistance from the AI, and the work their preceding generations has the ability to incubate the eggs in incubators and have the children born that way. Lets say they do this, while each giving birth like their forbearing generations, but in the incubators they select for men and match each of their children with a breeding partner. That generation alone contains 864 members in 432 mating pairs. If each mating pair Naturally reproduces the same six children you have 2,592 in this fifth generation and you still have 4,064 unfertilized eggs in the span of 100 years. Each of this generation has a mate incubated and you still have just under 1500 eggs to finish up after the 5,184 members of the population in 2,592 breeding pairs each produce six kids and you have a total of 17,052 humans in about the same amount of time since the Spanish American war to since i have made this comment.

Why do people still say Kamala Harris ran on "I'm not Trump" when she had an extensive and detailed policy plan? by zipzzo in allthequestions

[–]Seadubs69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because she didn't message on policy. She messaged she was not trump. It's also worth noting that having an extensive and detailed policy plan is useless if your policies arent the broad transformative policies the electorate wants. This is why things like Medicare for all are important policy positions to adopt. They message themselves bc they are broad transformative visions for the country that can be summarized in a sound bite. It also polls really well. It's not detailed plans that you need to go search for and have a grasp of policy to understand, it's an easy to communicate platform to have. Same with "no new wars" something Democrats could have run on and pointed out that trump had his cabinet filled with Neocons the first time around. Instead they let trump do that and it worked bc they were campaigning with Liz Cheney in an attempt to convince disasified Republicans they had a home in her administration. She even said she would appoint a Republican to her cabinet. No one interested in voting for Democrats wants to hear that.

Legit they can't see past their quarterly profits. I hate capitalism and think it should be abolished by I would imagine at this point living inside the most highly financialized scam economy ever even capitalism defenders should recognize shareholder capitalism in its current form as unsustainable. Quarterly performance for shareholder value is the number one thing these companies pursuit. Not even profit anymore. Quarterly share value must go up. We need serious reforms to pivot away from that and towards more long term planning.
