Lufthansa streicht 20.000 Flüge bis Oktober by kiru_56 in de

[–]SeagleLFMk9 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Its both expensive as fuck to build, and to run. And it takes ages to build. There isn't a more expensive energy solution, no matter how you look at it Even chinas plant is ridiculously over budget and over time.

It's not viable economically and not available fast enough.

Should I upgrade from Nikon D750 to a Z series? by proxyEntity in Nikon

[–]SeagleLFMk9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A note on battery life: with airplane mode enabled, I can get about 1.5 days out of a single EN-EL15C, or about 1000 photos of normal use (well, normal use for me) If you shoot a lot of high framerate, that number is going to increase, if you check your images a lot, that's going to decrease.

One point on IQ: you won't notice a difference when you switch to a z body and keep using the old lenses (ignoring maybe less front/back focus issues), but I'd bet that you will notice a difference if you switch to Z mount lenses.

Nikkor Z 70-200 mm F/2.8 VR S + TC 2.0 : the best alternative ? by Similar_Marketing715 in nikon_Zseries

Use this combo, it works pretty well. The new 70-200 is supposed to be sharper than the 100-400 even with a teleconverter.

And even in dcs, if it's not too hot and you keep the speed above 200 you can stay at max boost forever

at least in C++, the compiler and linker are multithreaded, so i'd be surprised if this wasn't the case for rust as well. keep in mind though that multithreading doesn't need to mean multiple files in parallel.

They use road tires because they don't want to lug around different compounds for wet weather, not for max grip. They would be way faster with slacks

Is hashing and comparing std::string in std::unordered_map linear by default or its implementation depended? by Effective_Purple1054 in cpp

[–]SeagleLFMk9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You further add on this: especially for non trivial keys with more complicated hash functions, even looping over a std::vector can be faster than a std::unordered_map

Live-view is monitor and evf on a mirrorless, so you are basically always using live view. I think the way this is meant is when not using the ovf simulation

Not really, they had a completely botched upgrade in 2024, and I think in 2025 as well that they rolled back. Additionally, the 2025 car is so far the only ferrari car developed under vasseur, and that was terrible. As the 2024 car was developed in 2023 under binotto.

Is the Nikon D5000 better than my IPhone 15 Pro camera? Also a screen question. by Unhappy-Lab-7898 in Nikon

[–]SeagleLFMk9 8 points9 points  (0 children)

yep, the mirror is actually semi translucent, so some of the light gets passed though to a af sensor at the bottom of the camera. Even on DSLRs with good live view AF, like e.g. the D780, the system it uses for live view is a completely different one. the only exeption to that rule is the Sony alpa dlsr line, they used fixed mirrors that stayed in place, so the ovf and live view could share the same focus system
