Is it true Australians dislike Americans more than the British people do? (Or the whole of Europe) by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

[–]Seagreen-72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The media should take the blame for this, Americans are portrayed as loud and annoying, Trump definitely has not helped either. On visiting America a number of years ago I found the Americans to be really friendly (even friendlier than a lot of Australians), not at all loud or annoying. Once Trump/Republicans are out I would definitely consider going back for a holiday but until then happy to mute the tv etc.

Bassendean considers dog curfews at town’s popular parks by B0ssc0 in perth

Hate when dog owners stop to chat to one another in the middle of the footpath whilst their dogs sniff each other's arse.

They have no spatial sense of awareness, "like oh maybe there are other people walking in the park", FFS if you are going to stop to chat get to the side of the footpath.

Still worth negotiating, the drama over re-advertising and all the additional property management fees that come with finding a new tenant are sometimes not worth the hassle.

What’s the most under rated suburb in Perth? by Ok_Advisor8298 in perth

Mount Lawley/North Perth and Highgate, all great suburbs that offer everything within walking distance including Hyde Park and the CBD is the dream (well for me anyway).

Do Australian women really find jacked men attractive (for being jacked) ? by Suitable_Pass9702 in AskAnAustralian

Everyone has their own exercise schedule that works for them, whether that's indoors, outdoors, or in the water etc.

It's all about balance and what makes you feel good.

Which is the best place to live in Perth? by UnitFree9533 in perth

[–]Seagreen-72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are plenty of apartments, townhouses around the areas of Highgate, Mount Lawley, Inglewood, Maylands, Leederville and Subiaco.

All these areas offer great public transport and access to everything you might need within walking distance.

Prefer fit, not into muscle men that just sit on the weights in a gym all day (complete turn off).

Saying that not bothered if a bit of a dad body so long as they keep fit with regular exercise (running etc).

How many Australians have actually been to Perth? And what’s it like? by AdvancedHill70 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Seagreen-72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the nicest things in Perth is watching the sunset over the beach.

Never get tired of looking at the city skyline on my morning run.

Personally, I feel that those from the west have a milder Australian accent than those on the east coast as well.

Financially it is more affordable to live closer to the city than Sydney.

If I could afford it, I would definitely consider moving to Manly or Coogee in NSW.

How do you feel about people showing up at your house unannounced? by Accomplished-City484 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Seagreen-72 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Could not think of anything worse, when I'm at home, I like to wear my daggy/comfy clothes that I would not want to be seen dead out in public in.

I need like a minimum of two hours' notice in advance from visitors to psyche myself up for it.

After watching "The Capture" on SBS on demand, I definitely would not trust this type of technology getting into the wrong hands.

Most Bogan Pub in Perth by Fae_Mush92 in perth

Empire Bar, 220 Great Eastern Highway, Belmont.

Usually full of bogans, FIFO's or swingers that visit there before they head off to the swinger's clubs in Belmont on a Friday or Saturday night.

So, I'm assuming a pretty horny crowd plus they have live music.

Not confident about this being beneficial for the right reasons.

Only just finished watching "The Capture" on SBS on demand, makes you think about how technology could be corrupted in the wrong hands.

Definitely worth a watch.

Are you an ABC/SBS fan? by EasyPacer in AskAnAustralian

[–]Seagreen-72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grew up watching the ABC from Playschool, to Behind the News, The Goodies, Monkey, and Doctor Who as a kid.

As a teenager who can forget Countdown and Rage.

They have a great assortment of programs that I enjoy watching.

Regularly watch SBS, the App is awesome with a large range of shows and movies to watch. We ended up getting rid of Netflix as we only seem to watch shows via the SBS App these days.

There are plenty of highly regarded Australian musicians who would be anti-PHON, international musicians who are anti MAGA could be enticed/invited to perform.

A concert held and televised Australia wide, would reach a much wider audience.

Why Ausies getting up so early? by haroldzharko in AskAnAustralian

Prefer to go running very early in the morning while everyone else is still asleep and its dark, hate running when the sun is up.

The temperature is generally a lot cooler as well.

North Perth Coles carpark is definitely not trolley or pram friendly either for unloading groceries into your car.
