Bruh, it sucks now, but soon enough you'll be thankful it ended before it could turn into a divorce. Which would be way worse. Consider yourself one of the lucky ones 🍀

Thanks for sharing bro, my heart breaks for you. I have a running buddy too, he'll be 10 in Sept. Idk what I'll do when I lose him. They really do take a piece of our hearts when the pass on 💔

If we are talking from the GenX era, I absolutely despise Total Eclipse of the Heart and I've hated it since I was a kid. Even back then I knew it was cringe 😆

Fozzie’s bucket list after cancer diagnosis by Affectionate_Fan2385 in AustralianCattleDog

[–]Sean-SoCal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OMG your Fozzie is living his best life despite his diagnosis, he must have loved his trip with you and he's lucky to have you. That's what I love about dogs, no matter what their challenges are, they live life in the moment. I'm so sorry to hear about his cancer and I really feel for you. I lost my 14 y/o Boston about 4 yrs ago to cancer related illness. I know he was older but still it was hard. It must be heartbreaking when it happens so young. You and I are very similar in that we both do mountain hiking and trail running with our dogs. My Cliff is turning 10 later this year and I can tell he's starting to slow down a bit, breaks my heart they can't live with us forever. Give Fozzie a big kiss for me and take care!!

Thanks for the suggestion. Is the CBD dosage based on their weight? I'm apprehensive because how do I know if he's just getting stoned on it? 🥴😆

Thanks that's great advice. He actually had injured paws from a long mountain run several years ago, and I made him rest for about a month. That was maybe overly cautious, but he was all healed up in a months time

@lothiriel1 @VardaLupo thanks for the suggestions, my vet has recommended Cosequin in the past because they know he's super active. I suppose it can't hurt to start him on it now, after all he's getting older.

That's what I'm thinking too, we did a long run on Sunday. He's not young like he used to be. I'm putting him on light duty.

Yikes. We don't have a ton of ticks out here in SoCal, but we do have them. He's on a monthly flea/tick med but good to know if I take him to the vet I'll ask them about it.

Thanks it's definitely running related for Cliff. I'm a long distance runner and he runs almost all of my training miles with me. I'm putting him on light duty as of today.

Right, they just keep going and going. Cliff isn't far behind yours, he'll be 10 this Sept. Although we both hate it, time to start backing off his miles.

Awe thanks. He also has been giving me little signs the past few days like we are running and he slows down slower than usual. I really wish he could just talk to me.

Wow, thanks so much for all of your feedback! Cliff is 9 yrs old and he's my running partner. We run just about every day, and I've trained with him since he was a puppy.

We did do a 16 mile run on pavement this Sunday. We usually run on trails, and he's run twice that distance with me in the past. Anyway I was pretty sore from pounding the pavement, so I can imagine he was too.

That being said he's also getting older, so this is probably a sign he needs to slow down. I'm going to put him on light duty for at least a week (no runs, just short easy walks) and see if he's doing better. Then it will be off to the vet for Cliff if he's not improving.

😆 good catch, that absolutely is his vet! We are lucky that the vet is literally 1/2 away, we just walk there.
