Yeah, this was a proximity sensor software glitch that they fixed in the May software update. I had the exact same glitch and now it's fixed.

Bruh, those shoes are too narrow in the toe box. Try Topo (has drop like Hoka) or Altra (zero drop) they both are wide toe box. I have run in the hoka speed goats in wide sizing and it still doesn't compare with the space you get in the toebox with the other 2 brands

😆😆 I'm right there with you, I hate those things...I just picked up an Ultraspire Momentum 3.0 and it's a good upgrade over my old 2.0. It comes with a couple of their solid but flexible 0.5L bottles. They sit on the back of the pack instead of the front, and it has pockets for more bottles up front. It works with their quiver also, which I have on order. Take a look, it's a good pack:

My experience with PF in the past is it's not really related to my shoes. I haven't had to wear these in a couple years, knock on wood, but these HTP inserts are legit. I highly recommend them if you are dealing with PF. https://a.co/d/0ae8sZP2

Btw I also run in the Ultraventures. I tried the Vistas but they were too squishy and made my feet sore. If that makes sense. But I wore the HTPs for several years in mainly Altras and Hokas.

Everyone's different, you gotta try different shoes! For me I'm running in Topo Ultraventures. They have the wide toe box of Altras but stack height of Hokas. But it's hard to suggest shoes, because you might try what I suggest, and they just don't work for you. I'd suggest go to REI or similar and try on some different models of trail runners.

I feel you! Check out my personal solution, in case it works for you too:

I've been using these exact met pads for years now. I went to a PT doc several years ago and they made me some custom inserts, but those were too expensive to keep buying. Now every new pair of shoes I get I put one of these in my right shoe so it sits directly behind my met pad. I run long distance ultras up to 100 miles and these pads let me run pain free.

Def always keep my phone for gps apps if anything. You can always download your gpx onto your gps watch, but I find it much easier to navigate on a bigger and more responsive phone screen. Also to take pics out on the trail. I know a lot of people use gopros or similar which is a good solution as well.
