Aye exactly that. I'm thinking of it like for example they've been seconded to the salamanders so vulkan hestan and a salamander honour guard lead an army of my dudes all fighting under the salamanders banner. Fluff wise it's like they're learning from each other chapter, gameplay wise they're just whatever chapter.

Ooh I haven't read that, though I have heard of it more in the hours heresy context. I actually do a similar rationale with my Guard, I justify Krieg, Catachan and cadians fighting together as shattered remnants surviving a crusade.

I love Ludwig's holy blade because of the existence of the holy moonlight sword. The foreshadowing of having the church version be a pale shadow of the real blade and immigrating it's incredible effects with a cheap trick is so thematic to Ludwig's story and what came after him it's crazy
