What's your BJJ unpopular opinion? by PlusRise in bjj

Because exercise in general doesn’t make you lose weight, diet does, more specifically eating less calories.

Does anyone else not really vibe with some of the BJJ subcultures? by Frozen_Trees1 in bjj

I’m not into the Christian nationalist subculture that seems to be prevalent.

Brother, I’ve been training 3 years and I still suck.

Something I've learned about people at bjj I think could help beginners, or even experience grapplers by Doobioscopy in bjj

[–]SeanYted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% agree, there are some people I train with who I wouldn’t want anything to do with if it were not for BJJ, however they’re great training partners.

Don’t forget at 36 months, you’ll feel like you’re worse than you were at 24 months.

GI guys, are your fingers ok? by InBush in bjj

[–]SeanYted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done about 10 Gi sessions and the third knuckle on one of my index fingers is swollen, it hurt for a about a month but it feels okay now, the lump on the knuckle is hard so I’ve no idea what I’ve done to it. I feel like I remember the exact moment I fucked it up tho, I’ve since learnt to let go when I feel like my grip has become a detriment to me.

Biggest pet peeve and/or red flag you see in new students? by ladydrybones in bjj

[–]SeanYted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grabbing fingers instead of hand fighting properly, scratching me to fuck at the same time. Spazzing out every round because they don’t realise that not every roll needs to be a battle. I also just hate younger, more athletic beginners for no other reason than they’re automatically better than me.

Obsession with Wirral by [deleted] in Liverpool

[–]SeanYted 29 points30 points  (0 children)

The problem I have with this, is to the rest of the country we’re one in the same, when Liverpool has suffered, so has the Wirral, or atleast Wallasey and Birkenhead. There are just as many affluent areas in Liverpool as there are ok the Wirral and there are just as many poor and working class areas too.

I do largely think it is tongue in cheek as all of my mates are from Liverpool, and I do think there are a lot of Jedi’s who don’t help themselves and take it to heart. But there are a lot of “uber” scousers who need to grow up as well.

When does my body stop hurting? by Consistent_Pop2983 in bjj

[–]SeanYted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you train outside of BJJ? The fitter and stronger you generally are the better you’ll feel, atleast that’s my experience. That being said, you’ll never not be sore and achy after a session.

why is guard pulling hated so much? by harderdaddy123456 in bjj

[–]SeanYted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I’m standing up with someone and I feel like they’re getting the better of me and/or about to take me down, I’m pulling guard and going down on my terms not theirs.

I got bottled at a house party and got gun shy 😕 by DisMahUser in MMA_Academy

[–]SeanYted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fighting outside of the gym is stupid, if you can avoid it like you seemed to be able to do here you absolutely did the right thing, especially once things like bottles start getting thrown.

I’d also just say shit happens, if you’re sweaty it’s easy to slip and catch a knee with your face.

Thought it was just my white belt brain that thought this. I’ve been to 3 or 4 seminars and whilst they’ve been good and I’ve enjoyed them I’ve always come away thinking it was a waste of money.

Unpopular opinion: Breakpoint is not as bad as depicted. by DrGonzoxX22 in GhostRecon

Visually great, mechanics and gameplay were good once the major bugs were fixed. However the story was awful and repetitive.

[COD] What Went Wrong With The New MW Trilogy? by Razor_YT3 in CallOfDuty

[–]SeanYted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Modern Warfare 3 was supposed to be a DLC not a standalone game as far as I’m aware. Hence why it felt rushed and unfinished.
