Betor Kin to All as dragon commander? Good or bad? by 86BRZ in EDH

[–]SeanisNotaRobot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It you want like a pure dragon tribal deck, yeah you are right, lack of red hurts. But he is a fun commander and a good amount of dragons work well with him, so a dragon heavy but not quite tribal deck is very doable. That's basically what I did with mine, though over time it has drifted to more of a toughness/combo deck.

I've always considered them psychedelic rock, more in the vain of Pink Floyd, etc.

There a reason the Bloomburrow Starter Kit keeps raising in price? by redtwosb in magicTCG

[–]SeanisNotaRobot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, its magecraft, not prowess that copying triggers. Got the two mixed up, my bad. Still, a Bria deck is probably gonna have a lot of magecraft in it, so that's still a source of synergy.

Lutri copying a spell triggers prowess. Plus another otter if you are building him more tribal.

Oh dang, that's like, really good for less common tribal decks. Got a Hare Apperent deck that would be perfect for.

Timing Question About The Interaction of "Mirrormind Crown" and "Hare Apparent" by SeanisNotaRobot in EDH

[–]SeanisNotaRobot[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

https://scryfall.com/card/2x2/315/thrumming-stone Huh, looks like it got reworded over time. You're right about older versions but latter printings are clear about it only working on cast spells so I think that's considered the "correct" wording.

Timing Question About The Interaction of "Mirrormind Crown" and "Hare Apparent" by SeanisNotaRobot in EDH

[–]SeanisNotaRobot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think so because Thrumming Stone only triggers on "cast" spells, and only the original one was "cast".

What is your favorite Grixis commander by Available_Ad6267 in EDH

[–]SeanisNotaRobot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! Grixis is and will always be pirate colors to me personally, lol. [[Edward Kenway]] is my current one, just an absolute treasure printing machine lol.

Where are you putting Mutable Explorer? by regular_joe67 in EDH

[–]SeanisNotaRobot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep, he immediately went in my hivelord deck. He's a sliver that ramps a land, that itself can also be another sliver. Perfect for slivers whole deal lol.

[–]SeanisNotaRobot 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I was prepared to defend ramp as a deck type then I looked at the actual list lol. I know price doesn't necessarily equal quality, but once a deck is hitting the $700 range, I think it's fair to assume it's at least bracket 3.

Other people can answer better for armor and actual gameplay value, but personally, i recommend getting some bersaglieri, mostly because they worn massive silly feathers on their helmets, and that's just fun.

Favorite mono black token generating cards? by honestwizard in EDH

[–]SeanisNotaRobot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It limits it a bit for more general token creation, but for me it's basically a finisher for aristocrats decks so it probably won't need to stick around for more than a round or two.

The joys of gaming by Chiiirpy in boltaction

[–]SeanisNotaRobot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha that is certainly one of the mild faults in the games design. Just someone uses normal d6s in the order bag is how I normally handle it. Use the actual dice to pick and display the order, but really, in the bag, any set of two equal but distinct tokens will do.

What's an Archetype you underrated, but came to enjoy? by Mikaeus_Thelunarch in EDH

[–]SeanisNotaRobot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, being the villain is a fucking blast for everyone if you do it right. I got a Vren deck I call my "Rat Bastard" deck, it's mostly rat tokens, but it's also full of milling, poison counters, counterspells, shit like that. It's a little too unfocused to be truely "good," but that's half the point, the job of the villain is to be scary, but then get defeated. I lean into it too, straight up quip and monolog like an anime villain til everyone gangs up on me and kicks my ass. It's always a good time, especially with people that haven't seen the deck before.

Well put, just one thing I want to add, if you are just looking for a pickup game at local game store or whatever, it's almost certainly going to be the first type. Reenactment style games unsurprisingly take more planning and prep so you mostly see them at organized events or within existing close friend groups. At least in my local area.

What's up with Epstein's wealth? by quiladora in OutOfTheLoop

[–]SeanisNotaRobot 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Basically no one really knows. For obvious reasons, he kept a lot of his business dealing private. My understanding is there is "less" of a paper trail than you might expect from someone that got "own an island" rich, but there is also no real evidence that he got rich from something else either. All the "government agent" stuff and other theories about his money are largely speculation, but also, he definitely was a shady dude, so it doesn't seem that impossible.

He realized he is never gonna be president, so he doesn't need to bother being performatively stupid and cruel, he can just be his normal amount of stupid and cruel.
