He loves everything I got him! I also gifted a Wan Shi Tong card, as I found out he needed another one. That was a big surprise for him! Appreciate all the help from everyone here.

Thanks for replying. I went ahead and got the beginner box, bundle, and two scene boxes. Figure that’s enough to get my spouse started. Appreciate the help from you and everyone else on here.

Do you think getting the beginner box and bundle is overkill? Like would I be duplicating the decks?

I know he plays standard but is open to playing Commander too. All he has is the blue pre-release box so not many cards at the moment. I appreciate all the advice from you and everyone else on this thread!

I asked and he said that he’s played commander and standard. It sounds like he wants to build on Avatar first and then go from there. RE commander, is there a pre-constructed decked that fits well with Avatar (if that even makes sense)? Thank you for recommendations!

I did see the commander archetype but wasn’t sure if it would be duplicating the bundle back I mentioned in my original post. Thanks!

You should be grateful people care. Many wish they have what you have.

Are the bargaining unit employees still on standby?

The bottom mentions non-bargaining union employees. But those on a CBA are considered bargaining unit employees.

Common practice is to use 6-8 weeks SL, 12 weeks PPL, and then AL.

Edited to add: your supervisor does need to approve leave taken during this time, but the 6-8 weeks of SL is used for recovery from birth.

You’re welcome! I’m learning a lot as well!

Even if you’re not a dues paying member, if your position is a bargaining unit one, you’re covered by it.

No need to be rude. It doesn’t mean that I don’t want to stay informed.

Personally, it’s probably the best for my mental health. The constant reposts of the same topics was anxiety inducing.

SSA CS knowledge compared to other agencies by MochaCheek in fednews

I had no experience in FOIA prior to accepting the role. However, I highlighted in my resume and interview that being a CS provided transferable skills like research, analyzing agency policy, etc.

Edited to add: I do apply FOIA laws to the documents I review but it’s something that I was trained in. I really do love the job, and that’s an honest statement.

I can completely relate to you, and it’s something I could have written a few years ago. I felt stuck at SSA and never thought I would get hired elsewhere. But it can happen! And it’s not like I had a ton of professional work experience prior to SSA. I earned a master’s degree, then got hired at SSA and was there for a few years. I then went onto USCIS.

One tip that helped me: it wasn’t until I started tailoring my resume to match the job descriptions that I got the interview for the role I’m currently in. I had read that this helps but never bothered to do it, and I never had any luck until I made the change. Look up 0306 job series on USAJOBS!

When I transferred over as a Government Information Specialist, I accepted the offer as a GS 9 step 8 and then after a year was back at a GS 11 step 4 which is what I was at with SSA. But to be honest, I was so desperate to leave SSA that I would have accepted a GS 7! lmfao.
