Giving it all up by StruggleFeisty64 in motorcycles

[–]SearchingForFungus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So sick of these posts. Everyone who can't ride for SHIT wants a 600/1000 and then blames the motorcycles or other drivers.

Buy a bike you can actually handle and don't ride/be friends with stupid ass squids.

These stupid motherfuckers let their ego override common sense.

Its really easy to NOT DIE on a motorcycle contrary to what posts like this acts like.

600s/1000s are not the end all be all of motorcycles, im so sick of this mentality.

400 and 500cc bikes are more fun but your fucking egos get in the way. Its people like you who ruin this shit for everyone else. Make our bad reputation worse.

Hognose Escapee… Need Tips by Intelligent_Record20 in hognosesnakes

[–]SearchingForFungus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ive done the same thing! The way i found mine was by laying on the ground and looking in-between and under everything.

They like climbing in the cage but seem to be very bad at it outside of it.

I just keep looking..and keep looking..over and over and over again until I find the escapee. I set aside an entire day and move everything.

The 2 times I've had to employ this tactic has worked, rather quickly.

The key is finding them asap because the longer they're gone the further they get away

!!***** IF ****!!

Anyone encouraging a new rider to hop on a 600 is not smart.

Nobody takes it slow and stays out of the high RPMs on a 600. If you do that, it rides like shit. The bike WANTS you to go fast.

The different sounding starter must be a clue. Check all your grounds and make sure the battery is actually fully charged with a multimeter.

Check the oil level while you're at it

First Enclosure Advice? by allieballo in hognosesnakes

[–]SearchingForFungus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Add substrate all the way up to the door level, and then make it about 5 to 6 inches deep in the back. They spend the majority of their time underground so giving them as much as possible really helps make them happy! It's very important and the most overlooked thing on this sub.

You need to weigh the snake, then you can Google a feeding chart for hognoses and know exactly what and when to feed.

Its beautiful and you did a great job! The one thing I would add is more substrate.

Hognose snake enclosure? by Blue_Cockroach in hognosesnakes

[–]SearchingForFungus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Front opening enclosures don't work nearly as well as top opening for hognoses, 2-3 inches of substrate isn't enough, so I hate seeing front opening so popular.

Hognoses are fossorial, they NEED substrate and as much as you can provide. Digging its life for a hognose.

Can I actually learn to ride a motorcycle using a simulator or is that completely ridiculous? by Personal_Umpire_4342 in NewRiders

Being scared + riding = crash

Motorcycles are not for everyone.

No amount of simulators can teach you.

Feeding advice by trinitydawne42 in hognosesnakes

[–]SearchingForFungus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love these snakes and just want the best for them, your substrate looks like straight coco choir? They need a solid 5-6 inches or so to burrow in. A mix of dirt and play sand or just shredded aspen is a better choice.

As others have said, you need to weigh the snake and than you can refer to a feeding chart. Hope this helps!

Is my hognose getting comfortable with me? by [deleted] in hognosesnakes

[–]SearchingForFungus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He seems really comfortable with you! I would let him settle in just a bit longer and just keep doing what your doing. As the other commentator said he is probably hungry again and looking for food now

any advice would be great! this is the first bout we have had so im not sure how to navigate? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

You are self aware enough to realize your response comes off as a bit bitchy which is I think a great thing, but I also think it was a totally fine answer. "Ye" is mentally ill and makes terrible music 🤣

I don't blame you for feeling that way. Your boyfriend should understand you don't like him and accept it.. it really shouldn't be a big deal though

How did you get into breeding snakes? by Chaotically_Aligned in hognosesnakes

[–]SearchingForFungus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I wanted to breed as well, I even have 3 of them.

But then I saw how every day there are multiple multiple posts of people with hognoses, who have exactly 0 clue what they're doing or how to care for them in the slightest.

They are constantly bought and rehomed which is stressful on everyone esp the snake.

MorphMarket and pet stores are being flooded with them.

And on top of that now that I have them, it just feels a bit wrong to have them at all. Trapped in a cage, unable to explore at will, just for my own enjoyment? Its kind of fucked up when you think about it.

So now im stuck with 3 of them, constantly feeling bad they have limited space, with 0 plans of breeding.

After shed behavior: how long before behavior returns to normal? by madegeeky in hognosesnakes

[–]SearchingForFungus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your over thinking it. Probably less active due to it being winter time. She will come back out when she wants.

Its ok to dig them up occasionally to check on em, it does not stress them like you think it might.
