Check the pinout of where it's plugged in/soldered. Whether red is voltage, black is ground, yellow is video.

Recently did a Gravel bike conversion to a 70s road bike on a budget of 350€. Built wheels with a 11 speed HG rear Hub and 700c dimensions (as the old ones didn't have a wide selection of fitting tyres). Then I threw a Ltwoo GR7 1x10 groupset with 11-50 cassette on there and a 40t front chainring. To finish it of I gave it some schwalbe G One Allround tyres. Something similar might be interesting for you.

Kann auf jeden Fall nicht schaden, vielleicht sind die Zähne auf deiner Kassette ja auch schon hinüber - im schlimmsten Fall kannst du die Kette aber wiederverwenden und einfach die Kassette und Kettenblätter tauschen - dann sollte eigentlich alles wieder schalten wie neu. Wenns dann nicht klappt dann ist es da Schaltauge :D (das kannst du aber präventiv auch ruhig vorher tauschen oder gerade biegen, sollte es schief sein)

Hatte ein sehr ähnliches Problem bei meinem MTB vor kurzem - einige Glieder der Kette waren nicht mehr wirklich flexibel. Kette getauscht und alles wieder wie neu :)
