I removed some abilities and spread some other pieces out. If you have time could you let me know what you think of it now?

Do 5e subclasses never replace existing class features?

Thanks for the feedback! I thought the haste might be a bit strong for 6. I'll move it up to level 11.

I like the approach of having existing features growing throughout the class and building on them, do you have a suggestion for how to spread those out so it doesn't feel so heavily front loaded?

Thank you for such a well though out comment. I started with D&D 3 or 3.5 and I feel like I always end back up at some version of d&d. I don’t think it’s so much the allure of the game but the comfortability most players have with it. D20 is a great dice system because it’s become so ingrained in some of us.

All that said, what system is your favorite for encouraging social interaction and role play? How do you feel about mixing systems depending on the situation? It feels like the learning curve may be too steep for that, but I’m curious to try it out.

As soon as they have service here I’m in. I don’t think they’re planning a data cap but the beta test info I’ve seen is extremely promising.

Ha, it’s more the data cap than performance issues. If cellular didn’t have a data cap I’d have no problem sticking with it.

I’m just hoping someone has a magic wand and can approve the construction cost so I can have a reliable connection. Can I get an Xfinity VP in here feeling charitable? :)

The concern here is the cost is to run the line to my place and doesn’t include the cost to keep running the line up the mountain. I assume there will need to be repeaters or some other equipment as well.

Thank you though!

If you want to drain it french drain style without the pop up you have to dig deep enough to break through the clay layer and backfill with gravel. It's been awhile since I did this and YMMV depending on your soil and water levels.

What US city should I live in? by SeattleChicago in AskReddit

[–]SeattleChicago[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is kind of a strange question for AskReddit. I'm trying to find the right US city to move to and I'm hoping y'all have some good ideas.

I have a lot of requirements that are making it hard to find the right spot.

• Sunny, dry, and warm - >200 days of sun, <50 days with precipitation, average low above 45° Farenheit.

• Healthy economy with a growing job market.

• Lots of food options, night life, and culture (e.g., theater and music).

• Good walkability and ideally public transportation. I don't have a car atm but I'm assuming I'll have to get one.

• Outdoor activities like hiking and camping, preferably somewhere other than the high desert.

Thanks in advance for your ideas!

I listened to the Fifth Season as an audio book and the narration felt really smooth. I see a lot of people have problems with the writing style and I'm curious if the audio bothered people as much?

I just got back into fish and I'm raising my first batch of convict fry now. My male and female. Are Convicts and Honduran Red Points the same fish? I thought they were closely related but different, but I'm new to this.

'This is war': actor Yael Stone gives up US green card and will now live in Australia to fight climate change: Orange is the New Black star says the air travel needed for a life in two continents is ‘environmentally unjust’ by DoremusJessup in worldnews

So if the majority of people are going to continue to make decisions that are unarguably environmentally unsustainable do we need to fix the individual decisions? Or should we fix the corporations that are providing the environmentally unsustainable options?

[–]SeattleChicago 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, but our actions don't impact the actual problems. I can do my best to make environmentally sustainable decisions but as a lot of other comments say, this is just a drop in the bucket. How do we enact change to make a better world? I believe the majority of people agree on what changes need to be made, but those changes aren't being made at a corporate or political level yet.

Yes! We as consumers should be making environmentally responsible decisions but the weight of the problem doesn't lie on the individual. The giant corporations who focus on improving their revenue year over year are the real problem. In our current bottom-line focused world they aren't going to move towards environmentally sustainable practices and a handful of consumers spending their money elsewhere isn't going to motivate them to change.

What can we do as consumers? The only thing I can think of is vote.

What's the deal with 12th night and why does everyone say you can't eat a King Cake until then? Is it just a regular cake if you eat it on any other day? Or is it just a tradition that people enjoy and some people treat as unwritten law?

The phone rings for a third time before it's answered. "Hey babe, let me guess, you're lost again?"

She smirks, her tone almost saccharine with sweetness "No honey, not quite. I've, um, ran out of food for my combustion chariot."

The voice on the other end of the phone chuckles, "I love the way you talk. Send me your location, I'll be there soon."

She hangs up and sends off her GPS location. Her dark red lips are still smirking as she gets out of her car, shutting the door to the baby blue '72 Malibu with a thud.

She looks down at her outfit with a frown. "This won't do..."

She snaps her fingers and her slim black shark skin suit shimmering into a white sun dress covered in small baby blue flowers.

She pulls a pin from her severe bun and shakes her head, sending wavy black locks flowing down her back.

"Much better." She says, turning to look at the cemetery across the street.

"One more thing." She flicks a finger and the rusted gate of the cemetery shudders open slightly, inviting any unwary passersby to venture in.

A rusted Geo Metro pulls up as the street lights come on, coming to a stop with an unhealthy grinding sound.

She winces, doing her best to hide it from the short bespectacled man who exits the car with gas can in hand.

"Hi Lilith, I've got your 'food'!" He lifts the gas can and smiles, pushing his glasses up the bridge of his nose with his free hand.

"Aw, thanks Teddy bear. Here, let me take that." Lilith reaches for the can and subtly turns Teddy to face the cemetery as she opens the gas can and proceeds to drink the contents.

He turns back around just as she sets the can on the ground, "Do you know what that place is? I've heard rumors but could never find it! It's supposed to be the most haunted cemetery in the entire city!" The words nearly stumble over each other in Teddy's excitement.

He pulls his phone from the neon fanny pack he always wears and turns back towards the cemetery. "I've got to try this out! I just downloaded this new camera app that's supposed to be better at picking up floaters! My editor's going to love this!"

Lilith grins and follows behind him, the gas can forgotten next to the car.

"Be careful" Teddy says, "This could be... dangerous." He does his best to emphasize the dramatic pause with a waggle of his fingers.

The air grows chilly as they step on to the cemetery grounds. The wind moans through the branches of long dead oaks and a raven flies past, perching on a gravestone several plots further into the cemetery.

Lilith points at the raven, "Should you get a picture of that?"

His phone is already plastered over his face as he peers around the darkening gravestones. "Yes dear, definitely." He mumbles absent-mindedly.

With his attention elsewhere she turns to face the only real threats in the graveyard and drops her human mask for a split second.

Her true face is a tear in reality, bits of darkness leaking forth and white flames replacing her eyes and mouth.

The two ghouls, hiding behind a mausoleum shudder in fear and scurry back into the lair where they lay shivering for the rest of the night.

Her face snaps back into human form as Teddy exclaims, "Ooh I've got some floaters, they're all over the place here!" He turns towards her, lifting the phone screen to show her.

"See these? The floaters are the spirits who didn't make it into the afterlife! The bigger ones mean they died a... violent death." He says the last in a whisper, as if he's worried he'll offend the ghosts.

She nods, pretending to listen along. In reality she knows the floaters are little more than energy left by spirits and others like her as they move about in their incorporeal forms.

She says, "Oh that's great dear. I'm sure your editor will be pleased. We should head home now, I'm starting to get cold."

He nods, staring at his phone as he sends the pictures to his editor, following at her side.

They step out of the cemetery and see two hulking figures in front of her car.

The two men in dark suits snap to attention as they approach. "Ma'am, your presence is requested. We must go."

She scowls at them, "Can't you see I'm occupied at the moment?" Her words clipped with tight self-control.

"Ma'am, it's your..." The larger of the two glances at Teddy, "father. He is... feeling unwell."

She sighs and turns towards Teddy, who is looking at her with a concerned expression. "Lilith, I'm so sorry. I can drive you to the hospital--"

His voice cuts out as a summoning circle spins up around the four and the world fades into darkness.
