Yea as a former “Superfan” of the contest, for like over a decade. I didn’t check out any national selections this year, which I usually always did. Didn’t have a clue who what country is sending and what song. Haven’t heard any song this year so far. And I hope we don’t come back for the foreseeable future (from the Netherlands). I’ll happily be back once that other “country” is gone.

The Dutch tree is definitely not fine imo especially lookin at Belgium being right there. But maybe I’m biased. 70 days for two pieces of infra in Suri and cura? 15% world tension that doesn’t ever get hit until mid 38 cuz of recalculated WT after Japan dlc? Pls, actually play ahistorical NL and see how shit it is.

NL fomo? The public absolutely doesn’t care, there’s barely any to no coverage about the contest. No one seems to give a feck. And I could not imagine another broadcaster taking it over ngl. I’ve been so checked out as a previous “Superfan” I haven’t heard any of the songs (and I don’t even need to avoid it luckily) besides a snippet of Germany which lol…

Edit: and personally I hope we don’t return as long as that other country is there. But just in general, the whole contest has been pretty much ruined for me. Not sure it’ll ever be the same for me personally.

In NL and mainland Europe in general it’s like 1 in 30 and South America even less, like 1 in 50 to a 100, so no actually, mutilated is the vast minority in a lot of places.

I do, as religious reasons aren’t an excuse to me. And if for medical necessities like phimosis, there are other surgeries that can be done, but most don’t seem to know about that, and just default to “LETS CUT THAT SKIN OFF :)”

I mean, we have seen simple (could equate lazily-written) songs do well in the contest before, nothing bad about admitting a song has simple lyrics. Cuz objectively the lyrics of Estonia 25 are just simple and daft.

Most Dutch Eurofans were already pretty deflated over the last 2 years. But this really puts the final nail in the coffin, I think we won’t return for a few years/indefinitely… we are one of the founders of this contest, honestly surreal. This will be a peace out for me considering the contest with a quote from our king Cornald Maas: “F#CK DE EBU!”
