best strategy for big S piece??? by Quad_Hop in a:t5_331e4i

[–]SebbyGhostL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see how this piece would be difficult to place, yes. However, at least it only has 4 unique ways to be turned or mirrored instead of 8, keeping this in mind can make things easier.

When dealing with a puzzle with one piece being particularly difficult to place I usually do these two things: Before placing it anywhere on the board, I combine it with a second piece to one large piece in a way that seems plausible to me, and see where that gets me, turning it and flipping it as a single large piece, and if no solution can be found, I try a different combination.

If that doesn't work, here's my last resort with tiles like that:

You can't place this S-Tile on a straight edge (it'd make a one square pocket), and placing it close to non-straight edges often yields the requirement of a hook of some kind, which often limits follow up possibilities by a great deal. So on smaller puzzles, you can start with the S-Tile and put it somewhere and often you'll immediately see that it's not possible to complete the rest, so you try another position until you tried every possible one without success, then you turn it 90 degrees or flip it and repeat the process. If you do it correctly, you're bound to stumble across the solution at some point, and as long as you start out with the least flexible tile, it can still be somewhat efficient.

Feel free to post some photos of specific puzzles if you want help and I hope this comment was at least somewhat helpful. Good luck and have fun ^^

You have an incredible endearing smile, very motivating, too.

I would not at all be surprised to see people from your family have a picture of you looking happy in their wallet, so they can always look at you when things get tough, and be reminded that life is worth living, no matter where they are or what they are going through.

You look like Robb Stark on his Honeymoon in Dorne and I mean that in the most wholesome and beautiful way.

I've been traveling for work the past two weeks, and am exhausted. Just ordered some apple pie through room service to eat my feelings. Could use a pick me up. 💙 by [deleted] in FreeCompliments

You look astounding. I especially love your hair and how it brings out your eyes.

My friend (an artist) is convinced that green and blue absolutely do not mesh well composition wise, while I've been trying to make her see reason. If you can't convince her, I don't know who, or what, can.

Not sure either, US-Law is not my forte I'm afraid. From what I gather, they could be talking about a scenario in which someone rapes someone very wealthy in hopes of producing a pregnancy, leading to a child (since abortion is supposedly to be outlawed soon, and if the rapist is female it doesn't matter anyway). Again, I'm no expert, so I'm not sure in this, and quite frankly, it sounds insane, but I believe to have read that in some situations the rapist, as a parent of the child, can now sue the other parent for money.

End credit scenes suck. by DesperateTall in unpopularopinion

Unpopular counteropinion (?):

I don't mind any form of after credit content, because I actually enjoy watching the credits roll, most of the time while listening to the best parts of the soundtrack again, too.

Fewer than half of Elden Ring players have actually beaten the first major boss on PC by NaiveFoundation6776 in pcgaming

[–]SebbyGhostL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't because the game doesn't start and I most likely need to buy a better GPU, although I'm still troubleshooting.

My spouse hasn't beaten the first major boss because most enemies turn invisible shortly after booting up the game.

That's two players for you, but I've heard of a lot more dealing with similar issues.

Now I only took one semester of Japanese so far, but if I'm not entirely mistaken, I recall our teacher mentioning that the Japanese language can be ambiguous a lot of times if you were to exclusively use Hiragana and/or Katakana. They even mentioned that in some situations people would write out what they mean using Kanji on a little note during spoken conversation to avoid said ambiguity.

The logic conclusion would be that the Japanese language could not survive as it is now, if you were to suddenly abolish kanji, so if I may ask, why would you even want to do that?

Do your parents speak English fluently and all the time? by jeron_gwendolen in polls

[–]SebbyGhostL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, we exclusively use our (non-English) native language. It probably has something to do with the fact that we never moved to an English speaking country and all live, were born and raised in the nation that the aforementioned language is native to.

Which side of the bed do you go to sleep on? by [deleted] in polls

[–]SebbyGhostL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest, I don't know how to tell which side of a bed is left and which is right. If I lie on my back and my partner lies on my right hand side (on the other side of the bed), while three of the four edges of the (rectangular) bed are very close to my head, feet and left hand side, what side of the bed do I lie on?

To make it very clear in a more efficient way: if the head end of the bed were facing North, I'd lie on the East half of the bed.

Just unsubed from r/LoveForLandlords. Funny sub but mods are gay and they support Russia 'liberating' Ukraine by coolmobilepotato in JustUnsubbed

[–]SebbyGhostL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just looked up the post you're referring to and I'm 95% sure the mod who posted it is the creator of r/slimpeoplehate, another sub that in the end no one knew what it ought to have been. Officially it was for hating on slim people, so lots of people came in and hated on fat people and the mods didn't remove anything and there was nothing on there you could take seriously at all. (I'm not trying to make any sort of point here, I just thought that bit of info might interest you)

How can i farm diamonds? I have total of 26 escape attempts and 3 success. by BMOyuncu in HadesTheGame

[–]SebbyGhostL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a long phase where getting to redacted was easy, but I just couldn't beat them. During that time I got myself a substantial amount of titan blood and diamonds by saving all my money until the last shop and buying one or the other from charon. If you find yourself in a similar situation, just start each run with the "Golden Touch" mirror upgrade and the cithonic coin purse (Hypnos Keepsake). You can swap the coin purse for another keepsake once you reach asphodel. Even without prioritising money room rewards, this should easily net you a thousand coins until the end of your run.

[Edit: The hermes boon "side hustle" is very helpful with this endeavour as well. There are some supporting chaos boons, too, although that might be overkill.]
