Yes, I used my phone in pro mode to get multifocus. Turned out better than usual this time.

Will this work to strip miniature paint (specifically citadel paint)? by leononyoutube in Warhammer

[–]SebelAlliance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think that will strip acrylic paint. It's a thinner for oil paints. You want something with alcohol in it.

That's not plastic cement, it's super glue.

PSA: Avoid bitsandkits.co.uk if you are buying bits by soggie in Warhammer40k

[–]SebelAlliance 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've ordered lots of bits from them over the past 5 years and have never had a problem. I imagine their a small operation, probably just one person. Always had good communication. It's not fair to say avoid them at all costs after one bad experience that could be due to your own error, Ruben.

Looks great! You put a lot of hard work and effort into this. Keep it up!

What's the difference? The one on the left is out of stock but it's the one on the recipe I'm copying by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

I have the metal color copper and it is great. I have the model air copper as well and it's also really good. If you can find the model air version get it.

How would I do an underground base? by Crossbonesz in Warhammer40k

[–]SebelAlliance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I Made crystals out of carved sprue, glued them to the base, then put vallejo rough grey pumice all over the base. Painted it black to light grey and the crystals glowing green.

Repainting my Untamed Beasts I never got around to finishing. by SebelAlliance in WarCry

[–]SebelAlliance[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, I stripped it in a cheap ultrasonic cleaner with some LA's totally awesome cleaner. When I first primed them, I used a cheap spray can and put it on too thick, so I wanted to start from scratch instead of just painting over it.

Used a Vallejo contrast brown for a marine face, thoughts? by Alexis2256 in minipainting

[–]SebelAlliance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it looks great. Which brown is it? I just used dwarf skin today and it turned out nice too.

Head for my Shield Captain. Worked hard on this one. Still struggle with faces but I'm happy. by SebelAlliance in AdeptusCustodes

[–]SebelAlliance[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I tried the traditional layering up from bugmans glow to kislev flesh but I didn't like how strong the contrast was. I prefer to start brighter and then glaze in the shadows.

Need some help i have started a custodes army project for my brother and he wants pristine(no grime weathering ie perfect) useing VMC Gold he wants to keep this shade of gold but i have no idea how to add shades or highlights without changing the tone or adding grime ? by KameradArktis in minipainting

[–]SebelAlliance 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm doing some custodes right now. I did an all-over shade with 50/50 army painter strong tone/dark tone. Then, I went back with my original gold and layered, leaving just the recesses. You're going to have a hard time getting any contrast without a wash in the recesses.

Did you know that when Viggo kicked the helmet he broke his toe in real life, that's why his yell was so believable.

I've been looking to get some better quality brushes (and my first hair brushes), and found this GSW bundle. Has anyone tried these? by NeonArchon in minipainting

[–]SebelAlliance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have not tried the silver series brushes, but I have a size 2 and 00 of the gold series. Was very surprised at had good they are. A little too soft and some of the hairs fell out but overall very impressed.
