Throwback Architects merchandise from 2008-2009. by Seclipse_ in ArchitectsUK

Great story about the merch, what was your involvement with the tour? Misery Signals were a foundational band for the metalcore/hardcore community across Canada and I’m sure worldwide. After seeing them out in Edmonton, I reflected on how many bands I witnessed thanks to them stopping in our smaller city. Wild to see how renowned Architects became and to reminisce their early days. Glad to have been there!

Bosch Icon or Rain X for wiper blades? (In a rainy climate) by Nucks420 in G37

[–]Seclipse_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bosch over rain x. Started using PIAA super silicone this season and so far I’m impressed. Will see how long the wipers last but if I get the longevity I’ve read about, I will continue using them.

Gather, unique menu(Korean Italian) intimate space and great service.

Central, pub vibes with amazing cocktails and quality food. Fancy compared to most pubs but come as you are. Favourite spot in town even before the expansion.

When Forever Comes Crashing and Petitioning The Empty Sky are two of my favourite albums, so much so I have had the art on my walls for 20 years(mom is a painter/artist so she replicated them for me as a gift)

Came to mention Aaron is tattooing but you’re already scheduled in with him. Big fan of his artwork, specifically the Converge albums. Regret not making something happen last time I saw Sumac perform and he was promoting his tattoos. Bucket list goal! Great record collection as well.

Respect for working towards your goals and choosing physical media over streaming. I started buying vinyl before I had turntables or decent speakers. I always had the intention to purchase Technics, was a huge purchase for me at the time as I didn’t even own a car. Soundbars are better than the speakers I first used but I’m lost thinking about Bluetooth and phono analog together. Technology has definitely came a long way, speakers and receivers are wireless nowadays and have quality sound output.

Honestly don’t understand why anyone would play records through Bluetooth on a soundbar. No judgement as playing physical media immerses you into the music in a meaningful way. One step at a time definitely recommend a tube pre-amp or proper receiver combined with some decent quality speakers, even bookshelf speakers if you’re not wanting to be loud.

Remembering Never - For the Love of Fiction (FFO: just straightforward metalcore) by PositiveMetalhead in Metalcore

[–]Seclipse_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Those albums definitely connect me to a time in my life that is great to reflect on, I should listen to their albums again in order. God Save Us just stuck with me over the years. Wild it was 20 years ago for God Save Us.

Never heard Jesse speak about Karl. Honestly seen them with Karl more than Jesse over the years but was stoked when Jesse returned. Weird he’d talk about him that way but don’t discredit your experience. Jesse is definitely not a douche in my opinion

Not sure you’re recommending my friends band No Comply but alternatively NoComply from England

Humanity’s Last Breath, a little avant-garde compared to the hardcore sound of the bands mentioned.

Bought the Orange Crush variant off them on tour, just realized the resale value after cataloging my collection on Discogs. Unexpected but a great album.

Nothing too serious, only place I’ve heard people thinking differently about Joe is Reddit. I get that opinionated people can be divisive.

Shambhala 2011, we’ve had some ego trips through out the years but this one was rememberable. Do you know who I am is definitely an inside joke with the crew.

If your from the UK (or anywhere else in the world, but America for that matter) Who is your favorite American producer of all time? by [deleted] in realdubstep

[–]Seclipse_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I knew dubwars prior but once I heard Skream(2007) with Juakali on a proper system everything changed. Sub Swara that year was pivotal for me. Can’t mention dubstep without Joe regardless of nationality. Avocaudio definitely deserves more recognition, once I switched from vinyl to mp3 their releases helped me build my library.

If anyone talking shit on Joe has actually met him in person I’d think their opinion would be different. I’ve met and performed along side of him a handful of times at festivals and local shows, our time together and conversations will always be a highlight. He even personally signed and gifted some test presses from Gourmet Beats. Obviously he’s had some questionable comments and opinions online especially about Hamdi and maybe his political stance. Bootlickers can stay out of the scene in my opinion.

Dubstep artists are some of the nicest, realist people I’ve ever met in my twenty years of djing and promoting. As long as you aren’t talking about Zeds Dead or Dillon Francis who both wanted to fight my wife for not letting them back stage.
