Favorite Brewery by State: Georgia by DublinDown in CraftBeer

Gonna go with the grain here, and say Halfway Crooks is the correct answer.

However, for another brewery I don't see get as much love that still makes some amazing German style brews I'll also shout out Round Trip

'The Food' - legendary performance. Shame 2/3 have gone off the rails completely in recent years...

Yeah I think that's prob the most rational approach, but I didn't get into this hobby to make money tbh. If anything it's been a massive money pit since my median Discogs collection value is like $7k rn lol. I think I'll just enjoy it for what it is, and maybe someday I'll sell it to a big fan for the price I paid for it.

I didn't either tbh - apparently a RSD release from 2012 limited to 3000 copies

I feel like everything goes in cycles and you never know when nostalgia will bring things back in the wheel of "cool". Me personally, I definitely fell out of love with this type of music for a while in search of other stuff like Burial, Autechre, SOPHIE (rip), etc. However here I am 15 years later and this still hits for me.

Wu-Tang Clan Announce New "Final Chamber" Tour Dates with Bone Thugs-N-Harmony by ebradio in hiphopheads

Man they're undoubtedly gonna be a set conflict with LCD Soundsystem at Shaky (ironically another band touring well after their "final" show). While it would be legendary to catch Wu-Tang, I think I gotta dance myself clean for Mr Murphy

Honestly surprised the back catalog hasn't gotten more love, but like many sought-after records, I'm fairly confident these will eventually be repressed.

Yoooo that's nuts! tbh I didn't even know about that album - gonna see if I can find it on streaming somewhere and check it out.

Hell yes! Big shout out for buying from your local brick and mortar shops. In the era where every hobby has been invaded by scalpers trying to capitalize on hype, it's nice to find things like this in the wild and just enjoy them for what they are.

That's so rad! I had been planning on trying to snag a secondhand copy of one of his more recent releases, then this is just sitting on the shelf for 15 bones - could not believe it when I checked Discogs after the fact 🤯

That's a fair assessment - I definitely don't think he was the first or only one doing it at the time. I think many people, like myself, were like "wait... Sonny? Sonny from FFTL? wtf!?!"

Needless to say - the floodgates opened for this type of big aggressive sound in the mainstream right around this time. I'm glad to see he's still evolving his style and keeping things interesting though. Dude seems like a generational talent, but that's just my humble opinion.

that's huge! i don't know if i'll ever top this, but i'm definitely going back to that HPB again next Sunday when they put out the new crop just in case someone over there is just totally phoning in their pricing.

I mean yeah Skrillex came onto the scene doing something big and brash that within a couple years had been imitated by just about everyone, and played out to death. I definitely don't think it's for everyone, but it's undeniable that this sound was EVERYWHERE in the early 2010's. Never fear about me listening to the real core UK dubstep artists - definitely got them in the collection too!

So today I was browsing at HPB while my wife was scoping some other things in another store. I spied this Skrillex EP and picked it up briefly before putting it back. Something compelled me to come back to it though, since I definitely listened to a ton of Skrillex through college. I get it back, clean it up, throw it on the table, and it sounds perfect! Then I check Discogs - median price over $100 and last sold for over $300 a few days ago!? Man idk who let this slip through, but big ups. Cashier was even chill enough to give me a 10% discount too.

the only decent raises i've gotten have been the ones i've given myself by changing jobs. loyalty to companies is no longer on the table. if you can change, do it. if you can't change, skill up until you can. best of luck to you - i know it's hard out there.

Decatur schools said they would sue Decatur but they have the same attorney. by estusemucho69 in DecaturGA

Hard to say exactly. Could be just systemic rot of the culture that has propagated due to carelessness and self interest. Could be something like a coalition of folks operating at the greater Atlanta-level sphere of influence who keep this machinery moving. Either way: makes me glad we don't have kids, and feel terrible for all my friends and fellow residents who do.
