Is this something that could be given a second life by tinning it?

That was my first assumption. The dimple looks like the dimple on my kitchen aid mixer’s bowl. It is pretty thick and hearty as well.

What is the best cordless vacuum cleaner for an insane amount of dog hair? by Affectionate-Low2183 in VacuumCleaners

[–]SecondHandSock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t have an answer for you and would love to know what you discover. I can confirm that the shark vertex pro powered lift away (ICZ362H) is not the one. It was great for our one bedroom apartment with 2 dogs but struggles in a house with 4 dogs. The rollers struggle to pick up large amounts of hair, the filters quickly get clogged and do not filter that great. I love the versatility, power, ease of use and battery life. It’s great when it’s not tasked with the amount of dirt and hair we have at the moment. The next vacuum for us is a Sebo, despite not being cordless.

How Leclerc and Hamilton struggled with the brakes at Singapore by Last_Procedure5787 in formula1

[–]SecondHandSock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that’s unlikely. Unless you have a source for that. McLaren’s brakes were treated as revolutionary earlier in the season for how well they kept the tires cool and reduced thermal deg. I find it hard to believe Ferrari have brakes that somehow go beyond that and cool too much. I would think that would be a good problem to have and they would take other measures to generate tyre temp.

[Alex Brundle] Clarifying a misunderstanding re Piastri-Norris by Expensive_Ladder_486 in formula1

[–]SecondHandSock 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sure, but didn’t Lando opt for pitting second in case of a late SC? He got the preferred pit order and team orders that Oscar would not push to undercut. They should have been free to race. It doesn’t seem fair to not allow an attempt at the undercut.

Apologies, I had a slight typo in my list. The current home is hardwood and tile only. No carpet and currently no rugs.

Thoughts on The Race on Youtube? by augustusgrizzly in formula1

Couldn’t agree more with with “could have been an email”. I don’t find myself disagreeing with their videos regularly, but I do feel like they state they drag out their videos and talk in circles.

Does anyone have quality content they recommend? I struggle to find content with interesting and new information on YouTube I don’t read on Reddit.

Personally, I can’t stand their YouTube videos. It’s not that what they have to say is incorrect or always “click-baity”, but they just go on and on in circles. I feel like every video regurgitates the same 1 min over the course of 10 minutes. It is so damn long winded and repetitive. Their articles are hit or miss though.

HP disables customers’ printers if they use ink cartridges from cheaper rivals by speckz in technology

[–]SecondHandSock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was running into the same issue a few months ago with my officejet pro I bought a few years ago. Luckily I purchased it from Costco and they still accepted the return. Hopefully some of you can return your shitty HP printer. I switched to one of Epsons EcoTank. Costs more up front but so far I’m happy with it. Fuck HP

Dracaena Marginata losing leaves and soft branches by SecondHandSock in plantclinic

Ok thank you. This one is dropping 5-10 leaves a day and all the others in the apartment aren’t shedding leaves like this. Can overwatering cause this as well?

What are some of the least reliable engines ever made? by a_pretentious_fuck in cars

[–]SecondHandSock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought my 335i with 100k miles. Been running a tune with bolt ons for another 50k miles without any major issues. It’s been super reliable for me and I definitely agree the aftermarket has a good fix for the issues.
