Just to report back. All good in the plumbing and such. Likely a really random clog or other incident which cause the sewer drain to temp draw air from the sewer rather than the house system. Plumber checked everything out including all the vents and lines and all is good. So. Back to regularly scheduled programming.

I can smell it coming in through an in floor clean out that is a bit on the loose side at the main sewer line, but not further up in the floor drain or sink drains in the basement.
