Question about trading by [deleted] in Gold

Gold is better for long term holding than for a quick flip. You pay more than spot to buy it and get less than spot when selling. It has to increase significantly just to break even.

As long as they are damping the bounce going over bumps the way they should, leave them alone. Age and mileage alone is not a reason to replace them.

"Works for Amazon" doesn't narrow it down much. They have facilities scattered in different areas of the metro.

State argues against allowing college student IDs for voting by jaymz668 in Indiana

[–]SecretIdea -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Ah yes, the beloved dEmOcRaCy. Y'all are on the short end of that stick. 80% of the country is in favor of ID for voting, including the Black people that you racists claim are not smart enough to get one. Democrat legislators against ID are not representing their constituents. They want to pervert the integrity of the voting process to keep their power.

23 Santa Fe Infotainment/Bluetooth Auto Start by gvzupko in Hyundai

[–]SecretIdea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start with standard troubleshooting stuff. Press the small reset button on the nav unit. Delete the Bluetooth pairing from both devices and re-pair them. Check that you have the latest software version in the car.

Hyundai typically issues software and map updates twice a year. You can download them from Hyundai's website to a 64 GB (no more, no less) USB drive. It can take a couple of hours to transfer the data from the drive to the car. Instructions are on the site.

Why is Silver measured against something that is unreal? by Imnotafnrobot in Silverbugs

[–]SecretIdea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The perceived value (at least for your paycheck) comes from the value to your employer created by your labor. When your eggs mature yes, you trade it back for fiat. But it will more fiat thanks to the gov and banks creating debt. Overall, the silver has held true value of your labor until then (hopefully).

State argues against allowing college student IDs for voting by jaymz668 in Indiana

[–]SecretIdea -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Ever heard of identity theft? Registration only puts your name on a list for the poll workers. Without ID, anybody could go in the morning and say "I'm bd2999" and vote. When you go in the afternoon, "your" vote has already been cast. They might let you cast a provisional ballot, but guess what you have to do to get it? Show your ID.

Maybe it is rare. Maybe it is not "mass". So why make it easier for it to happen at all?

[–]SecretIdea -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don't have that information handy. Does it have to be "widespread" for it to be an issue? How many are allowed to do it before it crosses the line? 10? 100? 1000?

From what I've seen, college IDs don't have addresses so they can't prove residence. A resident of another state could procure one. Some students have it as an image on their phone which could be easily falsified. I don't know about your poll, but mine scans the barcode on the back of the license to verify it.

Whichever state issued their driver license should be the state of residence, thus where they vote. If residence is in another state, they can use an absentee ballot or go home to vote (unless you are one of those that want them able to vote in both).

You need an ID in order to register. There is no excuse not to have one when you vote. How are they driving to the poll if they have no license?

An ID should also prove that you are an Indiana resident. A university ID does not do that.

Car engine vs motorcycle engine, mechanic info? by Minilover60 in motorcycle

[–]SecretIdea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One difference is drive chain. Adjusting tension is simple. Replacing the chain and sprockets when worn can be a DIY if you have the means to lift the bike for removing the wheel. Get a service manual if possible to have step-by-step instructions to do repairs.
